How to Stop Early Reaper Rush in Starcraft 2

Many new players are wondering how to stop early reaper rush in Starcraft 2. It's not easy but there are plenty of strategies for making it happen in the game.

Zerg is probably the hardest race to use for stopping reaper rushes, especially early on. Luckily, however, a Queen and/or Zerglings with the speed upgrade will give the player enough of an edge to be able to send reapers packing.

Many Zerg build orders include a Queen right after a spawning pool and these are good to use. One Queen alone will stop a reaper or two from attacking a certain spot of the mineral line, but a spine crawler might be needed in order to supplement the Queen.

The problem with getting a spine crawler or getting an early pool is that you put yourself at a bit of a disadvantage against Terran and Terran can overpower a Zerg player with any sort of economy advantage that is given to them through heavy mech or marauder builds.

So perhaps the best way to stop this rush is to get a Queen and make sure you research Zergling speed upgrades as soon as possible.

Figuring out How to Stop Early Reaper Rush in Starcraft 2 as Protoss is a bit easier as well. Simply put, get an early stalker as soon as you can. A cannon or two will also hold them off if placed by the mineral line. Then, micromanage as best as possible while using hotkeys to keep your economy humming and building an army to rush the Terran player if not a Void Ray or two to harrass or attack.

As Terran, you should not be too concerned about walling in the front of your base like other races as Terran doesn't rely on melee units like Zerg and Protoss. Just get a bunker near the mineral line and pump marines. Many maps have only one spot for the Reapers to come from so you should be ready to hit them when they appear.

Many marines and/or Marauders will destroy Reapers if properly placed and bunkers give Terran a huge advantage vs. rushing infantry allowing you to tech up.
