If you know that you will be drinking, you can stop a hangover before you get one. Hangovers are mostly caused by fatigue due to too much alcohol consumption and the effects for alcohol. Be careful when consuming alcohol. It is possible to drink too much and get alcohol poisoning which can make you sick, put you in an alcoholic coma or even kill you. Do not drive if you are drinking alcohol. Be sure to have a designated driver that you can trust or arrange for a taxi cab to pick you up and drive you home.

Eat a Full Meal Before Drinking Alcohol to Stop a Hangover

Eat a large meal before you drink. If you start out with a full stomach, your body will process the alcohol slower and help you to avoid drinking too much which will reduce the effects of a hangover. It is good to eat something hearty such as pasta or potatoes.

If you begin drinking beer, stick with beer. if you mix beer, wine and hard liquor it will increase the effects of your hangover. It will definitely make your stomach upset and cause other symptoms such as vomiting and diarrhea.

Have a glass of water with you at all times during the night and drink it continuously. Every time you get a new drink, refill your water at the same time. When your drink is finished, finish off your glass of water.

Drink Milk When You Get Home To Stop a Hangover

As soon as you are done drinking have a large glass of milk. It would also be helpful to eat more food if you are able to. This will significantly reduce the symptoms of a hangover in the morning or eliminate them altogether.

Sleep at Least 8 Hours to Stop a Hangover

After a night of heavy drinking it is important for you to get a good night of rest. Sleep for a minimum of eight hours after you finish partying. Lack of sleep is one of the leading causes of hangover symptoms. If you get enough rest, you will feel better when you wake up.

To avoid the symptoms of a hangover, make sure that you plan ahead to get the food, water and rest that you need to stay comfortable.
