How to Stop Spam Comments on Yahoo! 360

While email has spam mails, blog also has spam comment. If your Yahoo! 360 blog is spammed, here are some tips you can use to stop it.

There are many bloggers used Yahoo! 360 complained that spammer continuously post hundreds, even thousands of similar comments to their blog. It is very annoyed because it would be impossible to delete those comments. Too many comments also make the page views unrealistic high. Those comments are mostly advertising for adult sites. Some of them even have link that contains virus. Therefore, when you see too many similar comments in your friend's blog, you would better not be curious to click go to the enclosed link.

I once tried to spam a blog (of course, the one that I created). When the 500th comments come, Yahoo! 360 will report that "Sorry, Unable to process request at this time - error 999". Next time, when I go to that blog again, Yahoo! only lets me post two comments. However, spammers can change their IP addresses very easily in order to post spam comments. When I changed my IP address, I can post another 500 comments. Yahoo! can only detect duplicated comment. I tried 499 of one comment. Then, tried another 499 of another comment (two comments are only one letter different). If you are being spammed, there are two steps you should do:

Step 1: At first, go to your blog. In "MyPage" page, click "Settings" (on the left side, next to "All Comments"). Mark the options "Friends of 'name of your group'" (only person in a particular group can comment on your page". At this mode, everybody else can only use "Select a quick comment". You should also remove any person that spams from your list of friends. If the spammer still uses "quick comment" to spam you, choose "Justme (Private)" instead of "Friends of 'name of your group'" (only you can comment on your page).

Step 2: Tell other bloggers to notice Yahoo! that your blog is being spammed. You can contact Yahoo! Customer Care yourself in order to get help. However, the more people complain about the problem, the quicker Yahoo! responds. Here is the link to report abuse to Yahoo! here.

Spam is very annoyed in anyway. It spreads bad information and virus right in your private blog. Moreover, your friend cannot read any other real comments with so many spams. I hope you would be stop those spam comments on your Yahoo!360 page with my method.
