Here are a few handy tips to help you study better :
1.)The table and chair -
Using a table and chair for sitting and studying can work wonders for your efficiency in studying. It helps you concentrate your attention, keeps your back straight and helps maintain an optimum distance between your eyes and the study material. Also, lying on a bed either on your back or leaning on a support while sitting on a bed can make you sleepy-something you dont want when you are trying to study well!
2.)Proper lighting -
A well-lit room is also an important factor in helping you improvise your studying. It helps you to focus better and be more alert, which is specially helpful when you need to wake long hours to study.
Using a single light source like a table-lamp can help you better your concentration for a small period of time but it can also lead to drowsiness and sleep.
3.)Coffee/Tea : These two most preferred methods for beating sleep are highly over-rated. Excessive cups of coffee and tea might not only be quite unhealthy, but also not be quite as efficient in beating off sleep as they are expected to do.
Try using alternate food items to achieve the same effect : research has shown that eating apples can help more in beating off sleep than caffiene etc.
4.)Well-fed state :
Many students commonly commit the mistake of not eating food for long periods of time either due to lackage of time or fear of feeling drowsy. Lack of fod can cause depletion of glucose stores within the body, which will not only decrease the functionality of your brain and other body organs,but also be a deterrant to your morale. A well-fed state is a major boost to feeling hopeful and positive-which not only boosts your body to perform better ut also gives you confidence and strength.
5.)An organised study area :
This is also a very important factor to be figured in while trying to study more efficiently. Before sitting down to study,make sure that all books,notes,pens etc. that you need are within your arms reach. It won't help matters if you have to get up every few minutes or so to gather one or the other things needed for you to study. Apart from breaking your chain on concentration, it is also a gross waste of time!
