Plan Your Time
You know that if you are going to study, you want to make sure that you have enough time to get all the information in your head. So, you need to make sure that you plan out a .
Tips for your schedule:
-Get a schedule together about two weeks before the exam! You want to make sure you have enough time to study everything!
-Make sure you study in short blocks; more than 30-45 minutes at a time will not be a good idea because your attention span is probably not that good. If you study 20 minutes a day, for 6 days, you will remember more than if you study for 2 hours the night before the exam!
-Don't study more than two subjects a night, you can easily mix some stuff together
-Make sure you allow more time for subjects that you need! If you have a 75% in Math, but a 97% in English, maybe you should spend more time on Math!
-Allow time for extra things. You need to have a life(I hope!), so make sure you allow time playing video games, hanging out with your friends, or whatever you like to do!
-Be Realistic! Don't say you are going to study every subject 2 hours a night, you will never be able to accomplish that!
-STICK TO YOUR SCHEDULE! What is the point of making a schedule if you are not even going to stick to it?
The Studying
Tips for studying:
-Have three phases of studying:
-Organize your notes
-Study the notes
-Relax knowing you did what you could do
-Take breaks while studying
-Find a quite place to study
-You may have the radio or Ipod playing, but at a LOW volume!
-Do not study multiple subjects at one time, do them individually
-Make sure you stick to the schedule
-Find out about review sessions with teachers
-Go over old tests and quizzes, retake them and check your answers
-ALWAYS ASK TEACHERS QUESTIONS! That is why they are there of course!
-DO NOT do the following:
-Study with the television on, it uses too many senses and distracts you from your work!
-Study in bed! Your body associates bed with sleep, not study!
The Exam
Even though this is a guide on studying for the Exam, I figured I would help you on the Exam portion!
When you go into the Exam, remind yourself that you studied as well as you could have, and there is no changing the outcome now. If you studied properly, you shouldn't have anything to worry about anyway. When you get the test, look it over, make a plan. Your plan should consist of the following:
-How many questions you have and how much time you are allowed
-What sections of the test might take longer than others
-What sections are worth the most points
-CHECK TO MAKE SURE YOU HAVE ALL OF THE PAGES!!!
-I cannot tell you how many sad stories I have heard about someone missing half the pages!! Of course something went wrong, in the copying process (Hey, computers aren't perfect!) and only the fronts of the pages were printed out. The student finished half way through class, walked up to the front, everyone astounded that the test was completed so quickly. Now, when that student got the test back, he/she wonder why the grade was a 38%... could have been an 88% if the student was paying attention when the teacher had repeatedly stated to CHECK TO MAKE SURE YOU HAVE ALL OF THE QUESTIONS... Looks like someone gets to go to summer school!
Conclusion:
Well, that pretty much summed it all up. If this guide helped you ace your exam, comment, Digg, and tell your friends!
Thank You!
