How to Style and Trim Your Eyebrows

TommiH
A lot of people tend to skip over how much their eyebrows have to do with their makeup and beauty routine. Just as much as it is important to clean your face every night and in the morning, it is to comb, trim, and tidy up those brows! They are a part of your face after all, aren't they?

By keeping your brows trimmed, plucked, and combed, you are going to add more character, clean appeal, and eye appeal. If you have bushman eyebrows, people will tend to skip over your eyes. If you have neat and tidy brows, your eyes will stand out more than your brows and thus get more attention.

Eyes are the window to a person's soul, right? So let the people in the window!

You are going to need:
Brow pencil (A shade lighter than your eyebrow color)

Brow powder (A shade lighter than your eyebrow color) *optional*

Brow powder brush/ small powder brush *this is only if you are going to use brow powder*

White eyeliner pencil

Fine tipped tweezers

Brow scissors

Metal brow comb

Clear mascara

Now to get started!

1st - Take a pencil and hold it against the side of your nose so the point is facing toward your chin and the eraser is facing toward your forehead. Wherever the pencil is, in between your brows, your brow should end. Now move tilt the pencil so it is still touching your nose but so the point has moved more toward the side. Let the pencil pass over your pupil and wherever the point is aiming is a good place for the arch of the brow. Now move the pencil again, more toward the side so that the tip is aligned with the outer corner of your eye. This is where your brow should end. Mark all these places with your white eyeliner so you remember where they are.

2nd - Draw a line going across the bottom of your eyebrow that follows the brow's natural shape. Do not color over any area you do NOT want to be plucked away. Any brow that is left under the white line is to be plucked with the tweezers.

TIP: It is best to take a steamy shower and get all your pores open before plucking. This helps cut down on the pain level.

3rd - After step 1 and 2 are completed, wash away the white eyeliner and give your brows a moment to calm down. Now take the brow pencil and lightly shade in any sparse hair areas. Comb your eyebrows out now (this will smudge in the eyebrow color).

4th - If you would like fuller looking eyebrows, this is where the powder would come in. Lightly dab on some eyebrow powder using the small powder brush.

5th - Now set your newly styled brows in place for the day by combing the clear mascara over them. The clear mascara will work as a sealer. It will keep your color in place for hours to come and keep your brows tame as well. Make sure to comb the brows in the direction that they grow for a more natural look.
