How to Nail that Job Interview and Get that Job

Job interviews can be scary times and scary places for some people, some thrive in the situation but others fail miserably. Below are a few tips, ideas and ways in which you can really shine in and during that job interview.

1. Practice and improve your interview skills before the big day, by this I mean practice your answers, get family and friends to ask you possible or potential interview questions and so on. Build up your confidence by practicing - as the old age saying goes - practice makes perfect.

2. Be on time. Being prompt is key and essential to landing any job and succeeding at any interview, If possible get to the location of your interview as soon as you can, so that you have time beforehand to mentally and physically prepare and gear yourself up for your upcoming interview.

3. Practice your speaking, your listening and your vocabulary. To win any job interview you need to be a good speaker and a good listener. You don't have much time to get across why they should hire you so preparation is key. Practice some keywords, try speaking in front of a mirror and try listening to others more to help improve your interview techniques.

4. Look the part - If you look good you feel good and vice versa. Dress for the occasion.

5. Talk about yourself, but don't sound or be too big headed or egotistical. You must sell yourself in a subtle way in a job interview and you must remind the interviewer why you are perfect for the job and why they should hire you.

6. Be prepared to talk about gaps in your CV, mistakes you have made and so on. Nobody is perfect but realising your mistakes is half of the battle won. No doubt you will be asked about something you don't like or are lacking on your CV, the best way to get through this and around this is to answer truthfully, honestly and in a calm manner.

7. Don't ever beg for a job and don't e3ver be too desperate or keen, believe it or not this is a big turn off for interviewers, so find a middle ground, don't be too desperate for a job, yet don't act as if you don't need the job.

8. Mind your body language. Interviewers look for all sorts of signs and movements when interviewing someone so mind your body language, try not too fidget, don't stare or look at everyone/anywhere but at the interviewer and so on.

Good luck with passing that job interview and getting that job. I hope you have found this article both helpful and useful.
