How to Be Successful in Achieving Your Goals

Important Questions to Ask Whether Your Goals Are Worth Pursuing

Glenn Magas
Ask yourself the following questions in order to establish whether your goals and dreams are worth pursuing. If you answer 'yes' to all of the questions, then you have established that to achieve your goals you need to be highly committed. If you are truly committed them, you will be successful in achieving them.

Important questions to ask whether your goals are worth pursuing:

* Is this dream really yours?
* Are you passionate about this dream?
* Are you willing to pay the price for your dream?
* Will this dream bring you satisfaction?
* Is there a plan to achieve your dream?

These questions will determine whether you have a goal worth pursuing - and if you do, the next step is to prepare to accomplish them.

If you answer any of these questions without an emphatic 'yes', then you need to examine if you are being honest with yourself and if this goal is really something worth pursuing.

If you are ready to commit to your goals and dreams, here are the 3 important steps to take in order to achieve them.

1. Write them down
2. Grab hold of them and own them
3. Seize the day

Unfortunately, people go out and pursue their dreams without a plan. The plan can be simple or complicated, but you need a plan. These steps will get you started on the right path; you just have to do each of them.

1. Write them down

A goal or dream is just an idea of a goal or dream until it is written down. By writing it down you can make it as clear and as specific as possible. Don't forget your dreams: keep them in front of you so that you can see it every day.

They say that physically writing them down instead of using a keyboard, uses more muscles which stimulates your brain more, which in turn ingrains that your goals and dreams are 'written in stone' so-to-speak. So take a pen and paper down and 'write them down' - literally!

2. Grab hold of them and own them

Share your goals and dreams with the world so everyone knows you 'own it'. That way your close family and friends, coworkers, your mentors, etc. will hold you accountable for achieving what you said you are going to achieve. By wearing your dreams on your sleeves (so-to-speak) you are saying that your dreams are real and you are going to do what it takes to achieve them.

3. Seize the Dream

Only those who see their dream are able to seize them. So if you have written them down and are wearing them on your sleeve so everyone knows what you want, it is now time to seize the dream! The commitment level is your accountability, your ownership, and your passion for the dream.

It is very easy to get caught up in your day-to-day normality's of life that you lose sight of your dreams. But when your dream is clearly in sight: by writing them down, keeping them in front of you, and sharing them with others, it helps you get your priorities straight.

If you are willing to pay the price, to sacrifice, to share with people your dreams and your goals, then you are well on your way to successfully achieving your goals.
