LEARN, LEARN, LEARN
There are a number of games offered in casinos, from slot machines to table games. If you want to be successful when you are casino gambling, learn more about the game that you want to play by watching other players. I remember the first time that I wanted to play blackjack on the tables. I knew the basics of the game, but I wasn't sure if I was ready to play with a table filled with people and a live dealer. I patiently watched the casino gamblers play the game while I learned the rules. Also, be aware that some casinos may offer classes for popular table games. The dealers teach new players the rules of the game during these sessions.
If you have watched other casino gamblers play, but are still uncomfortable, then another gambling tip would be to learn more about the rules of a particular game by purchasing a book about casino gambling or doing a search online for specific rules. These sources can help you to improve your odds in casino gambling.
BUDGET IS KEY
Once you decide on the type of game you want to play, the next gambling tip I can offer is to determine your playing budget. You will need to set a limit on how much you are willing to possibly lose at casino gambling. Yes, the odds of winning are normally not in favor of the player, so limits should be set. Depending on what type of game you play, comfort level and available funds, you should decide on an appropriate amount of money to be used for casino gambling.
TIME OF DAY
The time you decide to play may be a factor of how successful you are. Most casinos are crowded on weekends and it may be difficult to get a seat at a slot machine or table. Also, if you prefer like table games, many of the minimum bet amounts are lower in the early morning. It may be easier to find a $5.00 minimum blackjack table at 8:00 a.m. in the morning and a much higher minimum bet (possibly $25 or more) table later in the day.
SIGN-UP
If the casino you are visiting has a player card, be sure to sign up. These casino gambling cards are provided at no cost. Even if you don't play very much, you may receive offers from the casino. The perks can include hotel stays, gifts, show tickets, food and drink vouchers, free play and cash back for playing. These offers are normally sent by mail, phone or email. Of course, each reward program can vary from one casino to another.
Just to point out an example, the Red Rock Casino & Resort in the Las Vegas, Nevada area opened April 2006. Prior to the opening of the casino, I was a Station Casino member. The Station Casinos include the Red Rock Casino. I signed up on their online website to receive offers, promotions and hotel specials. A few weeks later, I received a postcard in the mail that entitled me to two free nights at the Red Rock Casino & Resort. When I called to make the reservation, since I was a new player at this casino, I had a choice of $100 in casino chips or $50 in slot cash. The promotion required me to place a minimum bet and if I won, I would keep the winnings. Since I liked the table play, I chose the $100. The trip turned out to be very profitable for me in the end while enjoying a newly opened casino.
KNOWING WHEN TO STOP
When you are ready to play, regardless of the type of game played, set a win and loss limit for yourself. Just like the lyrics of a popular Kenny Rogers song, "You've got to know when to hold'em. Know when to fold them. Know when to walk away. Know when to run." This is always the hardest thing for gamblers to do.
Based on your budget, a good rule of thumb is - if you win or lose by more than 50%, then it is time to go. The percentage may go higher or lower depending on your comfort level. Once you determine that it is time to move on, then you can try another game or take a break and enjoy the food and entertainment.
I hope these casino gambling tips help you to prepare for a successful and rewarding experience.
