Valentine's engagement announcement party Plan a menu of items you would love for food at your upcoming wedding reception. Make or purchase a heart shaped decorated cake. Have the words "Congratulations!" piped on it in frosting. Send your parents and possible wedding attendants invitations to the Valentine's party. You can hand make the invitation by cutting a heart from cardstock and printing the "You are invited to a Valentine's Day dinner at, location, time and date". Set up a buffet or sit down dinner in your home. Romance will be the theme with heart decorations and candlelight. Serve the meal and then bring on the cake. Make your surprise announcement to those who you are closest to as a newly engaged couple.
Tell your Mom you are engaged Pass a large decorated box to your mother with a rose. Inside she will find white cloth, a white zipper and underneath, a magazine photo or a sewing pattern for a wedding gown. How many times has she told you she wanted to make your wedding dress? The time has come.
Tell your husband he is going to be a Daddy Make your husband a yummy intimate meal of a baby shrimp cocktail, a salad of baby carrots and baby lettuce leaves. The entree of baby back ribs, baby peas and potatoes will be more hints for your husband. Place a covered tray on the table when it is dessert time. The tray has his favorite dessert with a pair of baby booties centered on the top of it. You can also include a bib that says, "I love my Daddy."
Surprise your children with news that a brother or sister is on the way Give each child a small Valentine's Day stuffed toy. Tie pink and blue bows on a wrist or leg of the toy. Sit with the child or children and share the happy news.
Announce that your parents will be grandparents Take a beautifully decorated heart shaped box of chocolates to your parents house for Valentine's Day. When they open the box they will find it filled with pink and blue candy coated almonds or candies. They should quickly get the message.
Husband tell your wife that the news has come, the adoption is going through Take your wife out to dinner and when the meal is over present her with a heart shaped jewelry box. Inside she will find a heart necklace that has MOM engraved on it. After dessert take her to a store to buy a special item for the child that you have both waited for.
Have a Happy Valentine's Day that is filled with special surprises.
