Now keep an open mind about what I am about to suggest. This is only temporally until you get your water cut back on. The first thing you must do is go to your local grocery store and buy plenty of bottle water. This should be the bottled water that is in the one gallon jug. This usually cost between $.54-$.64 a gallon. I would start off with about 10-15 gallons depending on the size of your family. Now that you have gotten the bottle water, let me explain how to ration the water out.
Taking A Bath
I love to take showers, and not having water puts a wrench in that plan quick, fast and in a hurry. So here is what you do when you want to take a shower. First you grab one gallon or jug of your bottled water. I don't like cold shower, so what I do is take the jug of water and pop it in the microwave for about five minutes. Don't worry, the whole jug will fit if you lay on its side. Once it is warm, turn the water jug on its upside down. You need to find some kind of nail or a sharp object so that you can poke a hole in the jug. Make sure you poke about 3-6 holes in the jug. Hold the jug over your head and presto, you have a nice warm shower. This works wonders when you have had a hard day at work.
Flushing the Toilet
Using the restroom can be a stinky situation when you do not have water. This is where your water gallons saves the day. For this you are going to need about 2 gallons of water. What you do after you use the rest room is lift the top off of the part that holds the water. Pour the two gallons of water into the container and then flush.
Once again, keep in mind this is a quick fix until you get your water cut back on. Its all about surviving when you don't have the funds to pay your utilities. Keep your head up. Things are going to get better, I promise.
