How to Survive Working a 2-10 Shift

So you just got a job, and you're excited. It's got everything you want from creativity to pay. But there's just one problem, the only shift available for you is the 2-10 work shift. So just what are you supposed to do now? A past worker of the 2-10 shift, I've got some news for you. You can have a life. You just have to try hard to do it. Here's how to survive waking up and going to work, then coming home and going to bed.

Cherish the mornings when everyone else is at work.

Use the mornings to drive around in your car after 9:30. You'll be glad you don't have to deal with rush hour or deal with driving in the dark during the very early hours of 6 or 7am. Nope. You can drive at 10 or 1l and get errands done like grocery shopping or doing the laundry.

Start a business.

While it may seem tempting to sleep away those hours before you have to work, the time would be better-used if you did something that would improve your lifestyle. After all, if you start a business, you may be able to quit your job and not have to worry about working the 2 to 10 shift. You can start a business several different ways. For instance, you can create your own website and sell affiliate products. Or you could start your own blog and do sales and advertising that way.

Write a book.

The sunshine might inspire you to finally put your valuable thoughts down on paper. So during the early hours of the morning up until about noon, take the opportunity to write something inspiring or entertaining. Talk about your day-to-day experiences, reflect on your past or draw from the knowledge of other people.

Get your wardrobe together

Take a good look at your wardrobe and take time to dream. Are those clothes showing the real you? Even better, are they displaying the ideal you? Dream of pastels and soft fabrics. And if you're a male, think of your ideal persona displayed by what you put on each afternoon. As you dream, your subconscious mind will gravitate towards making your dreams come true.

Working the 2-10 shift can be challenging. But you have to remember that it's more than just time to catch up on sleep. When you work from 2-10, you have a big advantage. You don't have to deal with those who work from 9-5. So you have freedom to be yourself without having to fight crowds or people each morning. So without, all of that, you can just relax and take the time to come up with an ideal life for yourself. Before you know it, you won't be working from 2-10, but your very own hours.
