Hire a Graphic Artist to Recreate Swimsuit Photos
Event coordinators can save time during planning stages by hiring a graphic or fine artist to make swimsuit cardboard cutouts. Provide the selected artist with photos that you want made into cardboard cutouts. The graphic artist will draw or paint the photo images onto cardboard pieces to make swimsuit cutouts. There is an alternative option for fashion coordinators and party hosts who want swimsuit cutouts that are more customized. Fine artists can also build custom swimsuit cardboard cutouts using their own designs instead of your photo references.
DIY Swimsuit Cardboard Cutouts
Get a swimsuit photo blown up to the desired size of your cardboard cutouts. Draw an outline of the area where you want to trim this photo if the entire image will not be used. Purchase a large flat sheet of cardboard from your local home improvement store. Attach the photo to your cardboard using spray-on adhesive or other glue products that are not messy. Cut out your desired shape of the cardboard and photo along the outline that you drew. Attach a medium sized piece of cardboard to the back of your swimsuit cutout using glue and tape. This will help your swimsuit cardboard cutouts stand on their own.
Get Professional Cutouts Printed
There are dozens of companies that sell custom made cardboard cutouts you use for events. These cutouts are also referred to as "standups" in store catalogs. Event coordinators can get professional swimsuit cardboard cutouts in many different sizes. Some cutouts are even made to withstand outdoors weather conditions, which is an extra benefit to event coordinators. Professionally made swimsuit cardboard cutouts cost anywhere from $10 to $130 depending on the size.
Plain Swimsuit Cardboard Cutouts
Gather pieces of cardboard that are sized to fit the needs of your event. Draw swimsuit shapes on the cardboard using markers or pencils. Color these shapes in with paint or high quality markers. Cut out the swimsuit shapes and attach the excess cardboard pieces to help make standups. The extra cardboard does not have to be attached if you have other decorating ideas such as hanging swimsuit cutouts on walls, windows or doors.
