How to Switch to MySpace Profile 2.0

MySpace recently introduced the option for MySpace users to upgrade to MySpace Profile 2.0.
Besides having a sleeker more modern design it promised MySpace users many cool, new options that the original MySpace Profile 1.0 didn't have. Here's what MySpace users will be able to do with their new MySpace Profile 2.0:

Control Your Privacy

MySpace users will no longer have to worry about tracking down that sneaky code to put in your MySpace profile that will keep your MySpace profile hidden from people that you don't want to be able to see you on MySpace. Now with just a simple click you can hide any part of your MySpace profile or all of it from curious eyes. You can now easily hide your comments, friends, last login, age, etc. And you're in complete control over which parts of your MySpace profile you want to keep hidden.

Create Friend Categories

With the newly added friend categories, MySpace lets its users create friend categories and then assign specific privacy option to each friend category. So you can easily keep your work friends, school friends, church friends and family in separate categories and give each group specific viewing rights to your MySpace profile

New MySpace 2.0 layouts

MySpace has added over 100 fun MySpace Profile 2.0 layouts that you can use to style your MySpace profile without ever having to leave the MySpace site. There are MySpace profile 2.0 layouts to suit every personality whether you're into rap, grunge, rock, girly layouts or even sports and movies. So now you don't have to worry about copying and pasting huge HTML codes for MySpace layouts to your MySpace profile.

So how do you make the switch from MySpace 1.0 to MySpace Profile 2.0? The process is actually pretty simple. Just sign into MySpace and from your homepage, click on Profile and then Customize Profile. You'll be directed to a screen that says Upgrade to Profile 2.0. Just click on the yellow button to upgrade your profile.

From there you'll be taken to another screen where you can customize the look of your new MySpace Profile 2.0. Select a theme for you MySpace profile 2.0 from one of the over 100 themes that MySpace has or find your own from an outside site.

Click on Change Layout to choose the layout of each module. In Advanced Edit mode you can change the colors of your background and each individual module in MySpace profile 2.0.

If you're not absolutely convinced that MySpace Profile 2.0 is the right step for you, don't worry! MySpace will save your MySpace Profile 1.0 layout and options for up to 90 days while you make up your mind. You can easily switch back to MySpace profile 1.0 by selecting that option at the top of the page on the Customize Profile page.
