Wonton wrappers are located at every grocery store in the fresh fruits and vegetables. Most of the time they are where they keep the bagged bean sprouts. Once you have gotten the wonton wrappers be sure to keep them refrigerated until you are going to use them. If not they will turn hard and crack.
Take your 2 pounds of ground beef and cook it completely. Once you have cooked and drained it, add 1/2 cup of water and the two taco seasoning packs to the meat and mix well. Keep pot on burner on low heat.
Cut your lettuce and tomato up into small pieces. Add both ingredients to the meat mixture and mix well.
Add your cup of shredded cheese as well as your 1/2 cup of sour cream to the meat mixture and mix completely. No need to worry about what it looks like, it will be hidden away inside of the wonton wrappers.
Once you have added all the ingredients, take the pot off the burner and allow to cool down. This will give you time to heat the oil. At least 20 minutes.
Begin by placing the wonton wrappers on a cleared counter. Place at least four out at a time. Cut the wonton wrapper in half leaving you with two smaller triangles.
Take a tablespoon or more of taco mixture and place inside the middle of the wonton wrapper. Fold wrapper from corner to corner and seal with warm water. Place aside on a plate and repeat step until all wrappers are filled with the taco mixture.
Now you know that the oil is hot, so be careful. Wonton wrappers expand so only place two or three inside the pot or the fryer at one time. They also cook very quickly, maybe two minutes at the most.
Cook all Taco Poppers and place onto a large plate. Serve with sour cream and taco sauce. Stays inside refrigerator for a good five days as long as they are sealed. Can be refried or baked.
