How to Take Control of Your Bowel Movements

ChristyL
Though embarrassing, lots of women have problems pooping. Ignoring it can lead to some serious and painful problems. Whether you have chronic diarrhea or painful constipation, it shouldn't be ignored or left untreated.

For those having problems with constipation; increase fiber, water, or also try a natural laxative. Beware of the chemical laxatives as they can actually worsen your problems. Give yourself enough time to poop. Exercise can also help loosen up the system. Ignoring constipation can lead to hemorrhoids, bowel obstructions needing surgery, an other painful experiences.

For those seeking relief from diarrhea; try the BRAT diet. Bananas, rice, apples and toast are all good "binders" and should stiffen up the poop. Steer clear of high-fiber foods, alcohol, caffeine and spicy foods. Also, be sure to drink extra water to avoid dehydration. Eat yogurt. Diarrhea can cause you to loose too much "good" bacteria and can be replenished with active yogurt cultures.

Any diarrhea or constipation that lasts more than a week straight should be checked out by a doctor. They can figure out if it's stress, diet or something more serious.
