What do you do? Do you smooth the lipstick out with your finger? Do you take a damp cloth and smooth it out? What can be done?
Well, I found out that you can take nicks out of lipstick easily with fire. Yes, that it right, you can light a match or take a candle lighter and heat up the area of your lipstick that has small nicks on it. Very gently, place the flame from the match stick or lighter close to the nick that is on the lipstick and watch it melt away.
Now, when you do this you want to make sure that you do not burn your lipstick up. You just want to get the nicks out. Don't place the flame too close or hold it too long on the lipstick or the whole lipstick will melt away. You should only hold the flame over the lipstick for about 2 seconds, because that is how long it takes to get nicks out of lipstick.
As you place the flame slightly onto the nick that is on the lipstick, you will see it disappear and you will not have to smooth the lipstick out with your finger or a cloth when using this method, because the nick or demarcation will be completely gone.
You can use this method with any lipstick that comes in a tube. I learned how to remove nicks from lipstick with fire from someone that works in a cosmetic department and I thought that this method was so neat, because whenever I used to get a nick in my lipsticks, I would try to smooth it out with my finger which was not good, because it would leave fingerprint marks in the lipsticks. I even tried to smooth out nicks by wiping lipsticks with tissue paper, which also left unsightly marks.
I found out that the best way to remove nicks from lipstick is to use a match or lighter, because you will not make a mess, your fingers will not have lipstick all over them, and your lipstick will not drip all over the place, because you will only be leaving the flame on the lipstick for about 2 seconds.
After you use this method your lipstick will look brand new and you will not see any nicks in your lipstick anymore. So, if you have nicks in your lipstick, take a match, light it, and burn the nick in your lipstick away.
