How to Take Your Own Boudoir Photographs and Look Professional Part II
Now that You Know the Basics to Boudoir Photography Lets Move On!
Lets start with the problems you encounter while taking color photographs and how you can solve them. The first thing with color photographs is you will notice every change in color and tone of the skin. This can be remedied through the use of turning up the red or warmth in the picture. Did you flush during the photograph? Turn the red down to cure that problem.
Can you see the flaws in your skin? You can try to edit them out using a couple different features on www.picnik.com. I recommend using the wrinkle remover feature over the zit zapper since the zit zapper can leave you with light spots on the skin that are not attractive. Just rub lightly over the spot andviola, it is gone. Next you can use the airbrush feature over the whole skin to remove any age spots, texture problems or scars.
What to do for makeup? This is very easy. Remember the fact that the color will be obvious to everyone. I recommend using a basic brown palette for eyes, pink for your blush and a nude lip. Be careful that you take great care in getting all excess makeup from below the eye off the skin so it is not seen in the photograph. Also, pay attention that you blend the makeup at the jaw line since it will be very visible. To make you lips more interesting you might want to try lining them with a dark nude color and filling with a light nude color.
What to wear? Use a bright but basic color palette. You might want to start with red, blue or green. Then for a interesting effect you can turn the picture black and white and then undue the process only in the areas of color that you would like to show. This does work best using bright bold colors. For a interesting idea try a plunge neck sweater with just panties. Why not? This is supposed to represent you in your boudoir doing personal things.
Wear do I shoot at? Shoot yourself still using the same basic background. Use monotone colors as a basic such as black, white, Grey or shades of brown. Make sure that the space is clutter free. You can use props at this point. I recommend pillows, blankets or feathers for the best romantic effect. You might even try to find some faux rose petals at the craft store as a interesting prop.
Taking color pictures takes a little more practice but remember to keep the color choices minimal to start with. You can wear black and bring all the color out in the makeup that you choose or bring the color out in your choice of wardrobe. Be careful though that you are the color in the photograph so that you take center stage.
