First off, it should be pointed out that Ray Bradbury is one of the rocks that built the modern science fiction market. Increased interest in one of the forefathers of current science fiction will surely build interest in many other science fiction writers. Book sellers are sure to see an increase in interest an demand in their science fiction aisle.
If the Ray Bradbury miniseries gets off of the ground, this is sure to spike the interests of many filmmakers in Hollywood. A distinct interest in the works of Ray Bradbury and his contemporaries is sure to follow. A simple search of the movies that are slated to come out in the next few years will cause one to discover a renewed interest in science fiction. The Ray Bradbury miniseries could go a long way in solidifying this renewed interest.
Of course, there are all of the collectible companies that love to jump on a bandwagon whenever there is a popular movie or miniseries on the way. I am not sure, though, how many fans of a Ray Bradbury miniseries would be interested in wearing t-shirts with his picture emblaze3ned on it, but I have been surprised by some collectible and memorabilia companies in the past.
Science faction websites and blogs should also find that the totals that they are making from advertisers are jumping up a little bit. I know that Ray Bradbury fans like myself will be debating about which stories should be portrayed in the miniseries ("The Veldt" and "There Will Come Soft Rains"). Remember, science fiction fans can be the most passionate people when it comes to debating their favorite stories and writers. Passion about a topic raises forum posts and raises revenues.
Don't forget that a Ray Bradbury miniseries could be a great shot in the arm for advertiser dollars for any station that picks it up. Just think, also, about how many science fiction ads that could be sold over a three night span. Think about how much interest could be generated in a few targeted ads about science fiction movies. The potential could be endless.
While a Ray Bradbury miniseries is most likely a long way off, fans and science fiction based companies are already licking their chops. They know that a Ray Bradbury miniseries could go a long way in bringing a new heyday for the science fiction market.
