How to sign up to receive them
You'll need a web-enabled mobile phone to receive Target Mobile Coupons. Bear in mind, text messaging rates still apply, so you could see a fee on your mobile phone bill for receiving messages from Target, including texts containing mobile coupons, if you sign up for this service. You can sign up to receive them via your smart phone here. You can also opt-in by texting OFFERS to 827438 (TARGET). It will take about two weeks for your first set of coupons to arrive on your phone.
How do you use Target's Mobile Coupons?
Your mobile coupons appear on your smart phone once a week or so via text message. To redeem them, just have the cashier scan the bar code at check out after ensuring that you've purchased at least one of the items since all offers are under the same bar code.
One very nice aspect of these special coupons is that you can also use them with manufacturer coupons, provided there is no exclusionary language for either coupon. For instance, if you had a Target Mobile Coupon for $2 off Pampers and had a $2 coupon off Pampers cut from the Sunday paper, you could use both together on your order, provided neither coupon contained language restricting its use.
But aren't these the same coupons as what's available at Target.com?
Target Mobile Coupons are for different items than those that are available at Target.com by clicking the "Coupons" link on the home page. There are far more grocery and other coupons available there to print; however, the mobile coupons are generally higher value coupons and are only good for one use. You can print Target.com coupons multiple times for use at the store, though cashiers may limit how many printables may used in a transaction.
Target's Mobile Coupons are an innovative way to save extra money. As smart phones become more common, usage of mobile coupons is bound to rise. Combining a variety of coupon sources will help you score the best deal on the products you buy at Target.
