How Are the Tea Parties Affecting America?

The View Through an American's Eyes

David C. Atkin
With our country declining in almost every way that it can people are getting upset, they are under the impression that our government is supposed to be of the people, by the people, and for the people, but things seem to have become corrupt over the years.

I think that there is still hope for our country, not Obama's form of hope, I think that we need to shrink the size of government back to where it belongs, and the states need to reassure the governmental obligations instead of thinking that the Feds always need to help.

The true Americans in this country have the same ideas that I do, they want lower taxes so they can bring more money in, and so the businesses in their states can afford to hire more people, a lot of things need to change, but it's not as hard as it seems.

First of all we need to root out Washington and get rid of all of the power hungry politicians that are lifers, who are in it for themselves and not the country, we need to make them understand that the people are in control of the country, and not the government.

Over the years the government has gained more power over the people, because the people have become complacent, they think that by some miracle that things will just get back to normal, but the old saying that says if you do the same things in the same way, you'll get the same results is true.

The politicians do these things that we hate because they can, and they know that nobody will stop them, they have had free reign to do as they please for a long time, and it's not just the republicans, or the democrats it's both of the parties.

They are acting like spoiled little kids who will throw a tantrum if they don't get their way, do you remember when you were a kid, just because your mom told no don't do that didn't mean that you weren't going to do it, it';s the same thing here, you have to make them see the light.

You do this by getting them out of office, and rebuilding from ground up to get the results that you want, you put down the high dollar special interest groups, and lobbyists that funnel millions of dollars to their candidates, you just get rid of this kind of behaviour.

Then you set term limits of two or four years on the ones who get elected, you make it so they are done after their term, they can't do the fifty year thing like the Kennedy's have done, after their term they can only serve in a passive way, with no direct line to the top.

If you want the economy to come back and stay strong, you promote the idea of small business getting in business, lower the taxes that they have to pay, and make it so they can get the funding that they need to open a business.

Don't spend all of your time caring what all of the other countries think of us, spend that time to build our country, shut down the borders and keep the criminals from other countries out of our country, these are simple things that go a long way toward fixing our country.

Once again start to teach the kids in our schools about our country, if you don't teach them to be Americans you can't expect them to know how to do it, and last but not least get rid of political correctness, and let the whiners whine.

The tea parties are based around the idea of people taking their country back, these are people who believe in our constitution, these are people who would like to see our country get back to it's roots, not as some people would have you believe, they are just a few radical Americans.

I believe in the ideas behind the tea party, I like the freedom of speech, and I like the right to bare arms, and all of the other freedoms the our constitution affords us, I am a true American who really believes in the core values of this country.
