How to Tell Your Friends and Family that You Are Wiccan or that You Practice Wiicca

You see I know we live in a less than perfect world where there are many narrow minded people. We all can agree on that much right? So why can't we agree to disagree on religion? People are afraid of change and they are afraid of what they don't understand.

We need to quit hiding and start explaining so we can feel better about ourselves and help others understand us more.

Now on to specifics, I am talking about the Wicca religion specifically because that is what I am. I have been a high priestess for eight years now. I have decided that churches aren't just for the Christians or any other specific religion. A church is a place of worship and dedication.

That is not the important issue right now though. That is just a mere resource if you need help or want to ask me a question.

The first step to "coming out" is accepting who you are and knowing that what we believe is true and makes since deep down in our hearts and minds. We are spiritual believers and mainly believe mother earth is what I like to call sacred. With out her there would be no us.

Understanding is also important. We need to understand that not everyone is going to be pleased when they know that we don't believe in one true god etc; Rather than a belief in multiple gods and goddesses. Understand that with out male and female there couldn't be life. Also this may sound silly but I have met some new age believers who don't open up and talk about their religion because they think they will be burned at a stake. Honey child, the Salem witch trials are long gone and over and there are laws against hate crimes. So my advice is do a protection spell if you are really nervous and start being proud.

There will be controversy there always is no matter what you believe. The only way to ever have true freedom of religion and be happy is to start talking and joining groups and finding friends who are of the new age or Wiccan faith. That will help you build self esteem. When you are ready let me know I usually do my own personal welcome ceremony either in private or in person if you wish to travel to my church.
