Many times though, if you are experiencing a rash of changes within your baby around the four month period, it is just a sign of teething. Normally what you can expect to experience, from my own experience, when raising a baby during a teething period is a number of different things. The first thing that you will notice is that your baby will start to become very vocal. When our child started teething we noticed this was when they became very active and started making a lot of noise and also started to move around quite a bit.
Other things that you can expect to notice when a child starts to teeth is irritability. You may find that your baby becomes cranky at odd times and for no apparent reason and as stated above, this does not necessarily mean that the child is colicy, but may just be teething. When your baby starts to try and tends to put objects near his or her mouth, this may be a sign that your child is teething.
If your baby continuously has his or her hands in her mouth all of the time, the chances are that they are teething. When a baby tries to put objects into their mouths, it is because they want to learn how to chew and use their teeth but also to work in their gum lines.
Another sign that your baby may be teething is when he or she starts to drool a lot. If you find that your baby drools excessively, this is a good indication that the teeth are starting to come in. Another thing that you may notice as well is that your child might start to develop a cough. This is not always as common as the above symptoms, but it can happen. If you notice any of these symptoms, it is best to confirm it with a doctor. These are the signs that I have personally experience with raising a child, but to be sure always go to the doctor.
