How Can You Tell If Your Contact Lenses Are Causing an Eye Infection
Something to Think About If You Have Contacts
In most cases you will begin to notice that your eye is very red or irritated both when your contacts are in and after you remove your contact lenses. If your eye continues to feel irritated even after you have removed your contact lenses than you probably have some type of serious infection in your eyes. The first thing you should do is try to flush out your eyes. If this does not provide any type of relief an dif they still feel pretty irritated than you should promptly call your eye doctor. There are also some additional signs that may indicate that you have some type of serious eye infection. You may begin to notice that your vision is very blurry even when you still have your contacts in. You may find it very hard to focus on one particular object. Remember that the worse an infection gets the more painful it will be for you, so don't wait to get the problem taken care of.
The bottom line is that there are obviously a lot of things that can cause your eyes to suddenly become irritated or infected. If however you happen to wear contact lenses than more than likely your problems are being caused by your contact lenses. Of course this is nothing that you should just assume, but your doctor will be able to tell you exactly what the problem is. In some cases it could be the contact solution that is causing your eye infection and not actually the contact itself. To find out if it is the solution you are using, you can try switching solutions and see if this fixes the problem. This is something that your doctor will usually recommend, but make sure that this is done only under your doctors supervision. There have been many incidents where the contact solutions have been recalled because they were contaminated. So make sure that you constantly check with your doctor and online with the FDA to find out if anything has been recalled. They will usually list any solution that has been reported as contaminated on their website which you can find just by doing a general search.
