How to Tell If She's Faking an Orgasm

Jody Morse
Most women will fake an orgasm at some point in time. If your female sex partner tells you that she's never faked an orgasm with you, chances are she's lying. How do you know if she's faking an orgasm if she never owns up to it though? Here are some tips on how you can distinguish her real orgasms from her fake orgasms.

Lack of Vaginal Muscle Contractions

An orgasm, ultimately, is a series of muscle contractions. What this means is that you will be able to feel her vagina making small (or sometimes intense) muscle contractions which may feel as though they are tightening and pulsating around your penis. This will occur between three and ten seconds, according to iVillage.com. Keep in mind, however, that there are some talented women out there who can fake this sign of faking an orgasm by clenching their vaginas as though they were doing Kegel exercises during sexual intercourse.

There are no Changes in her Nipples

If you are trying to find out if she is faking an orgasm, it is ideal to take a good look at her nipples. They will generally become stimulated if she has really reached climax. In fact, according to iVillage.com, only 5% of women who do not experience hard nipples have actually had a real orgasm. To find out for sure, try to avoid stimulating her nipples during foreplay.

No Changes in Breathing or Heart Rate

An orgasm causes you to lose control over your entire body. Women will generally experienced labored breathing - or breathing that is similar to what she may experience during a really intense jog. A woman's heart speed will also speed up if she is having a real orgasm. To find out, try pressing your hand against her chest (consider using both hands so it's not obvious) to see if you can feel a change in heart beat.

Differences in Skin Tone and Eyes are not Apparent

After your girlfriend has claimed to orgasm, take a close look at her cheeks and neck. Are they redder than they were before? Skin flushing is a common sign of real orgasms for most women. It will generally take on a splotchy appearance. According to iVillage.com, the pupils should also become dilated and will also look tired immediately after having an orgasm. Also, speaking of tiredness, most women will feel lagged and will not want to get up right away if they have reached a real orgasm.

Determine if She's too Loud

A lot of women make the assumption that louder translates to more realistic. However, if she seems too loud, chances are that she could be faking it. That said, some women up their loudness because they know it pleases their partners. If she knows this is a turn-on for you, this doesn't really apply.

So, what should you do if you realize that she is faking an orgasm? Before you freak out, it's important to keep in mind that you should not take it personally. The reason she is faking is probably to protect your feelings - she doesn't want you to feel "emasculated." Also note that women, in general, have a harder time reaching orgasm than men; for some women, it can take many years. While you could ask her, she probably won't admit to faking an orgasm. A better approach is to ask her what feels good during sexual intercourse and spend more time trying to please her.

I'd like to think I don't need to worry about this, but good to know!

This is seriously so true - take note, guys!

and there's some guys who don't even notice
    good job!

Oh yeah - I'm with Patti on this one! Although I'm not 63 (someday), my experience has been similar. Not to mention the fact that men are not stupid. Some of them do know how to 'blonde-up' so to speak, and make the best of an awkward situation. The truth sets us free....

    Scary stuff!

Ok, I admit that I read it.

Yep! It's all true. Simply moaning and groaning doesn't mean much guys, especially when she does that from beginning to end. If that's the case, more than likely she's acting. Sex doesn't have to imitate porn to be good. I always wanted to write on this topic, but I wasn't brave enough. I'm glad you did! At least I can comment. :)

I am not sure I wanted to know all that. :-)

Okay, here goes. I just have to be truthful and say what first came to my mind....In my old age (nearing 63) I found out early on in life that if you have a loving partner and you have a good relationship, telling the truth instead of faking it has many rewards. Many, many rewards....Oh yes, many rewards....(See me smile and blush here....)

LOL, I thought the same thing before writing it, Charlotte!
