How to Tell If You're in a Healthy Relationship
The Signs of a Healthy Relationship Aren't Always Obvious
If you find yourself supporting your mate, even in endeavors that don't necessarily match yours, this is a great sign of a healthy relationship. This means that you are unselfishly willing to back your partner up, no matter what his or her goals are in life. This also shows that you find them worthy of your support. This requires lots of confidence in your mate.
Not playing games, being upfront with what you need and getting everything out on the table shows that your relationship is mature and stable. Avoiding manipulation and mind games when communicating with your partner shows that you have a genuine relationship. It is not always easy to tell your partner what it is that you are feeling, but as long as you are truthful and forward, you can't go wrong. If you find yourself reacting to your partner in this manner naturally, not only is it very healthy for your relationship but it also an indicator that you feel comfortable enough to relate your true feelings to your partner at all times. This in itself shows that your relationship will be able to stand the test of time because there is no more important part of a union then to be able to effectively communicate with one another in a dignified manner.
If you don't cross the line when you get extremely upset, this is a great sign that your relationship is for keeps. Although everyone gets angry at times, taking out your frustration with your partner by resorting to extremes in insulting shows that you don't truly value your relationship deep down in your heart. If you are able to keep your cool even in the heat of anger with your significant other, that shows that you have a great deal of respect for your partner. This respect is often times reciprocal, and is a sign that you are in a committed and stable relationship.
While being in a good relationship is often times more about the mental aspect than the physical aspect, sex is undoubtedly a big part of your mental and physical bond. If you feel extremely comfortable around her partner and often enjoy satisfying sex with him or her, this is also a sign that your relationship is healthy and definitely on the right track. It is important that you are physically active and attracted to each other.
If you find that you like your partner even more after spending lots of time with them, this is also a really good sign. After all, one of the biggest things about being in a committed long-term relationship is spending lots of time with one another. Although this is quite basic, if you can't enjoy yourself around your partner then you might as well hang up your hat. Having fun with one another in truly enjoying each other's company is the biggest sign that you are in a relationship that can stand the test of time.
