How to Tell a Lie

So you would like to tell a lie and be believed? Well, I have some pointers but I do not guarantee belief from your victim. I think to be a successful liar you need to be able to act and believe your lie. If not, you probably will not be successful in your lying. Why should you tell lie? Sometimes you need to or maybe you're just a bad person. I don't know. You're the one reading an article untitled How To Tell A Lie! Lies aren't necessarily bad or naughty and knowing how to tell a lie can come in handy I suppose.

First, do not have much to do with the person who you plan on lying too. New targets are the best because they have not a clue about your naughty behavior. They will most likely be clueless and fall into your lie like a bears foot in a trap. The more contact you have had with the person you plan on lying to the more chance there is that they will know that you are lying. This is not what you want. You tell a lie so that they happen to believe it. To feel better about yourself, get out of trouble, or just be a liar. Either way, once you have lied to one person too many times it is time for a change in person. Once one person has been lied to so many times they catch on, unfortunately. Liars sometimes talk fast, have eyes that dart from one subject to another, and clear their throats alot, although this can also be a sign of drug use. As long as you keep to your normal daily acts you may not be figured out. If you do not normally talk fast don't do it when you are lying. The person will know something is up, either you are lying or have become an abuser, whatever. Just act normal for Pete's sake!

Secondly, it is a fact that it is easier to lie to people who you could care less about. It is not nice to say, but it is true. This is why many people find it so easy to lie over the phone. The personal connection is small or there is not a personal connection at all, just like with someone you either despise or have just met. If you lie to a boyfriend or girlfriend there is a personal connection. This makes you worry about getting caught and feelings of guilt. This will probably make you act strangely and you will be found out. I guess I am saying act normally and lie to people you don't care about or know well. Good enough for me. If in the event that you do need to lie to a loved one try lying to someone you do not know as well or care about and have them pass the lie along. Job well done!

Third, practice makes perfect or at least that's what they said in school years ago to me. Anyway, become an actor. Actors make good liars. Practice your lie, this way when it comes time to tell the lie you will know what to say. It will cause your brain less stress, since purposely telling a lie is kind of hard on the brain. Unless of course you practice. Practice! You need to use details too. Details make things seem thought out, true, worthy of truth, truthful, anything you want to call it. Details are usually found in truthful stories so they should also be found in stories that you want to be believed as true. A lie with details sounds good. Would you believe, " I am going out. With a friend." or " I am going out to the mall with Jack and Jill."? I would believe the second statement over the first, wouldn't you?

Lastly, believe it when you say it. It will make it more believable. It is a good idea to review it over in your head to start to believe your lie. If you are a pathological liar you already know how to do this. Now, maybe you will be able to tell a lie. Hopefully you will be good at it too! If not, then maybe you should stick to the truth, which is always safe. Lying does, I admit, leave alot of room for punishment. You make the choice and if you do choose to tell a little lie, use these tips to aid your success.
