Gardening is a good hobby and excellent source of fresh vegetables for your home. With people shifting their homes from villa type to flats where you can have terrace garden. Flats when comes in our mind we think of lack space, small garden. But, we can also with proper planning can come with terrace garden or roof garden.

Hanging pots
Hanging pots helps in reducing as well as proper space utilization of trance garden. You can utilize hangings pots with small leafy vegetables which will look green as well as you can pick up in emergency requirements for your kitchen. You can grow mint, coriander leaf or spinach in the hanging pots which will enhance the beauty of terrace along with providing leafy vegetables when required by your kitchen.

Utilization of broken plastic buckets or damaged pots
You need not throw away broken buckets or damaged pots; instead you can utilize them to your advantage. You can use these buckets or pots for small herbs like green chilly plants, hybrid beans, Tomatoes or any other vegetables which occupy less space. These vegetables are very essential for your everyday ingredient in your kitchen. You can pick fresh chilies, Tomatoes or beans from your roof garden.

Create steps garden
You can build steps in your terrace with waste wooden crates and place your pots on them so that your space is well utilized. You can use these steps for having flower as well as vegetable pots. You can grow lady finger, cauliflower and other winter seasonal vegetables.

• You can have the steps on both sides of your terrace and in the front you can have flower pots.

• Middle of your terrace you can have round plastic table with chairs. In the early morning you can have tea or coffee with your family. In idle time you can cut vegetables or help your kids' homework. You can have your laptop and work in open fresh air.

• You can place a large plastic or any metallic container with coloured water and place flowers to float. The container with its items will enhance the beauty of the area. Sometimes it can be used as a bird's bath.

Therefore, having your own roof garden will create a sense of self satisfaction, kids learn about gardening. Start your garden today and enjoy gardening.
