How to Use Those Freebies This Holiday

Dutch deC
For the past couple of weeks, I've been posting tips and sites to get freebies (you can visit them by going to my CP page - just click on my name) now that you've collected a few - what are you going to do with them? Well here are some ideas which are sure to help!

1. Stocking Stuffers - All of those pens, sticky notes, pads of paper, and other samples are sure to be a hit. I know I'm always in the need of a pen and when you can get them for free...

2. Gift "Trees" - A couple of years ago a very good friend of mine gave me this tower of round circle boxes. In each box was a little something (some were more than a little something though). They were stacked about 15 high and the smallest was at the top and the biggest was at the bottom ... almost like a tree! In one you could slip in a few coupons (I would LOVE that!!), and in another that candle sample you got in the mail. You can often find gift boxes and other things like that at Wal-Mart, Target, Walgreens and CVS.

3. Donate - Many pantries, food banks, and shelters need a little extra during the holiday season, especially in today's economic times - why not gather a basket of all the shampoo, soap, and lotion samples you got and bring it to the food pantry. Your giving a huge gift - which didn't cost you a thing.

4. Freebie Certificates: I dedicate a whole shelf in my closet to freebies (the food ones do go in the kitchen - not my bedroom!) and once a month I go through and take an inventory. A great gift to a loved one (sister-in-law, brother, mother, grandmother, etc.) would be 12 "Gift-Basket" certificates. Once a month you send/drop-off a gift basket full of little trinkets. That way once a month when you take your inventory you can clear out all those freebies you didn't use!

5. Freebie Searcher Membership Card: This would have to be one of the easier ones! Make up a "Membership Card" on your computer (in word, or open office) or make your own by hand. It entitiles the person to one full year of gifts - for free. This is one of the easiest gifts to do because for all the freebies you sign up for; just go back when your done for yourself and enter the member's address (whoever you gave the card too) and they'll get the "gift" (freebie) sent to their house. No postage, No wrapping - all it takes is a few minutes of your time!

6. Freebie Course: Are you really good at freebies? Why not give a "class" to a friend or family member and teach them about finding freebies and saving money with them - it's free, fun, and you get to spend time with someone you love!

Hope these help and have a Wonderful, Happy, Healthy Holiday and New Year.
