How to Get Those Luscious Large Lips

Large Lips Are In

Luscious lips are in. If we do not have them how can we get them? Starting with a non-surgical approach lips can perceive to be larger through the application of make up. A liner slightly darker then your lip stick can be used to outline the outer edge of the lip. Lipstick is then used to fill the lip in. A lighter glossy shade is then applied to the inner body of the lip giving it depth. Creams and gels can be applied directly to the lip, they are used to temporarily increase the size of the lips. Most of these products contain irritants that will cause inflammation of the lips, an example of this would be Cayenne pepper. After the irritant is applied the lips will swell. A lip pump is sold that will apply negative suction to the lips this will cause the lips to swell as inflammation is induced. This swelling will last a couple of hours.

Products can be injected into the lip with a small needle to cause the lip to plump up. There are a number of these so called injectable fillers on the market. A temporary filler is recommended as the lips are thin and permanent fillers may induce lumps that are difficult to get rid of. The temporary lip fillers can be injected into the perimeter of the lip causing a better lip definition as well as into the center of the lip to add volume. These fillers can also be used to fill the tiny lines in that may be found around the mouth. The temporary fillers can last up to a year.

Lastly there is surgery. A lip lift can be performed to lift the upper lift and give it more fullness. This technique involves making an incision under the nostrils and removing a wedge of skin. As the wound is sutured closed the upper lip will roll out. Another surgical option is a v-to-y advancement. This technique involves making small incisions within the inner lip and rotating the lip outward as the wounds are closed. Surgery will come with some downtime as the lips will swell but the results can be lasting. For more information visit my website at www.smclaughlinmd.com
