First thing is first: be organized. Besides just being a good rule of thumb in life, organization is your best friend in regards to dealing with airport security. Often times individuals will be pulled aside so security can sort through your bags. This almost always takes a great deal of time because of the lack of organization inside the suitcase. It is always smart to stack pants at the bottom of your luggage, followed by shirts, followed by loose items and toiletries.
So, why toiletries on top you ask? Simple. They are the most commonly removed items from bags. Now when going through security individuals are asked to put liquids and gels in clear baggies so it is easier for the screener to get people through at a steady pace. How many times have you had to wait because someone else put their deodorant in their shaving kit? Don't be that person. Airport security is a machine, by far from a well oiled one. That said, it is a work in progress, and as such you can help turn the wheel by adhering to the rules before you even get to the airport.
The next thing you should do is take off your shoes and place them in a plastic bin to put on the conveyor belt. Now, by law, you are required to take off your footwear, and thousands forget everyday while going through the metal detector, only to be sent back and undo their laces. While waiting in line it is a solid idea to loosen your laces to allow you the ability to merely slip them off when the time comes.
Taking off your sneakers isn't the only thing that will often get you sent back before even stepping through the metal detector. 9 times out of 10 what sets off the alarms walking through are belts. Take your belt off and place it in a plastic bin, preferably right next to your shoes. This will ensure you will get through without alarms blaring at you and also keep you organized with the bins holding your belongings.
The last thing you simply must do to get through airport security swiftly is to take your jacket off. Airports may be chilly, but that is nothing compared to the rough demeanor you will encounter with officials if you do not remove your parka. This is something almost everyone forgets, and if one were to imagine how many thousands of people go through security every single day just think about how much time is wasted by those keeping this extra garb on.
While airport security is an animal no one wants to wrestle with, these steps will make your traveling experience more on par with relief rather than a waiting nightmare.

Post a CommentPlease DO NOT ALLOW CARRY ON BAGS, they slow down getting off the plane, some females always wait for a male to get her bag down (plus his own bag) they crawl all over people who are already seated ( both loading and unloading). Why do the airlines allow such unorganized chaos to continue?????
