How to Throw an Adam Lambert Party

Adam Lambert is the exciting singing sensation from American Idol Season 8, and is embarking on what will surely be an amazing career. What better way to celebrate Adam than by throwing an Adam Lambert party!

When is the best time to throw an Adam Lambert party? Some ideas are during American Idol finals, his birthday (January 29), during the American Idol Season 8 tour, or the day he releases his first CD.

Below is listed everything you need to throw a great Adam Lambert party. Most of the items can be bought at a local party store. For others, I have provided links.

Adam Lambert Party Themes

First, your Adam Lambert party must have a theme. This will help you in planning your decorations, invitations, games, and the rest of your Adam Lambert party. Some Adam Lambert party themes are - Glambert, Lamb Skanks (an Adam Lambert fan website), rainbow colors, black and white (from the song Adam Lambert sang on American Idol), American Idol, blue-and-silver (American Idol's colors), karaoke, or dress-up.

For a dress-up Adam Lambert party, have everyone come as either Adam Lambert or as super enthusiastic fans. One of his fansites even has an Adam Lambert shop where you can buy clothing, jewelry and other products based on Adam's style. If you want to go all out for your Adam Lambert party, supply everyone with poster boards, colored markers, and miscellaneous items so everyone can make their own "Adam Lambert" poster (the kind fans hold up during the show or at a concert). Then when you go see American Idol Season 8 on tour, you will already have your Adam Lambert poster made.

If American Idol has not yet ended, you might even consider an "Adam Lambert Voting Party" where guests vote after an Idol show. Ask everyone to bring their own cell phones if you throw an Adam Lambert voting party. Vote for the full two hours after the show.

Adam Lambert Party Decorations

You should have already decided on an Adam Lambert party theme, so now it's time to decorate! If you are using rainbow, blue-and-silver, or black-and-white as your theme, it's pretty simple. Get lots of balloons in the corresponding colors (you should get balloons no matter what the theme) and tie them or hang them all around. Put balloons and possibly a sign or poster out in the front yard or on the door of the location where your Adam Lambert party will be.

Have the local bakery make you an American Idol cake with words like "Adam Lambert Rocks!" on it. Add ice cream, and you're set to go!

Adam Lambert Party Games

If the theme of your Adam Lambert party is dress-up or costume, definitely have a costume contest. There are two winners: one for the best Adam Lambert look and one for the best fan look.

Word Game. As guests come in, hand each a sheet of paper with the words "Adam Lambert" printed at the top. Ask them to try to make as many words as possible with the letters in his name. I came up with 50 words in a fairly short period of time. This will keep your guests occupied for awhile as the other guests come in.

Pin the microphone on Adam. Depending on the age group of your Adam Lambert party, you can have a pin the microphone on Adam contest. Blow up a picture of Adam Lambert with his mike blacked in, and make a microphone out of cardboard, aluminum foil, and black marker. Blindfold a guest, spin them around, and have them pin the mike on Adam. Be careful where you put that microphone!

Karaoke. If you have a karaoke machine, have guests sing one of the songs Adam Lambert sang on American Idol. Have guests play one of the judges and judge the singers just as they do on Idol.

Even if you don't have a karaoke machine, you can play Adam's songs (download them on iTunes) and have people lip sync and perform them à la Adam. Pick up a (fake) microphone at your local party store in the Hannah Montana or Camp Rock party section. Give prizes for the best, silliest, most romantic, most creative, and so on.

Adam Lambert Party Favors and Prizes

When your guests first arrive, hand them small autograph books so they can get everyone's autograph at your Adam Lambert party. An Adam Lambert pin makes a great party favor or prize as do Adam Lambert t-shirts, if you really want to do something special for your guests.
