How to Throw a Christmas Theme Baby Shower

Belle Story
Is the expecting mom due around the Christmas holiday? What could be more fun and original than a Christmas theme baby shower?

Christmas is so much fun to decorate for; now you get to decorate a baby shower with Christmas decorations, too! A Christmas theme is perfect for a mom whose favorite holiday is Christmas. It's also a lot of fun if you live in a cold northern state.

Your Christmas theme baby shower starts with the invitations. Make your own invites in the shape of a present, Christmas tree, snowflake, or ornament.

Set the Christmas theme by decorating the outside of your house. Spray the grass with snow. Put snowflake or Christmas tree window clings on your door.

Baby's first Christmas ornaments and outfits are pretty popular. Every new mom wants to dress up their baby for this special first holiday. Why not give your guests an opportunity to decorate a bunch of items for baby's first Christmas? Making crafts will be a lot of fun plus the mom to be will get some really cute stuff! Items you can decorate are a onesie, stocking, santa hat, ornament, or diaper cover.

Decorating for a Christmas theme baby shower is the best part! Use red or green tablecloths. Lay out candy canes on the table. Hang snowflakes in the party room. Wrap empty boxes as presents and make a few piles of presents throughout the room. Hold the baby shower in the room where your Christmas tree is set up. Is the baby a boy or girl? Buy a blue or pink Christmas stocking, write the baby's name on it and hang for decoration. Display a small Christmas tree (decorate with pink or blue ornaments depending on the sex) and encourage guests to put their gifts under the tree!

What kind of food do you serve at a Christmas theme baby shower? Food and drinks that warm your soul. Hot chocolate with candy canes, flavored coffee, Christmas cookies, candy, fudge, candy almonds, popcorn, eggnog, and gingerbread are just a couple ideas!

If you're hosting a lunch or dinner shower and plan on serving a meal, you can get really creative with your table name tags. Along with the typical name tag, include a gingerbread cookie at each setting. Decorate each one to look like that individual guest!

Add a Christmas theme to the baby shower favors by simply putting each favor in a small gift bag with ribbon or inside a mini Christmas stocking.

You still have the option of throwing a traditional baby shower, but why not take advantage of the opportunity for a fun Christmas theme?
