Pools
Depending on how many dogs you have attending the party and their sizes, you may need more than one pool. Purchase the kiddie pools, which are not only inexpensive but only get filled with a few inches of water so the dogs can stay safe. Even though it is only a few inches of water, make sure someone is watching the dogs at all times.
Sprinkler
For the dogs that would rather not play around in the pool, allow them to scamper around in the sprinkler. Set up one that has a short spray so it doesn't hit the human guests. Put it in a grassy area away from dirt so the dogs don't get completely muddy.
Dog Ice Cream
Pick up some dog ice cream for a cool treat for the pups after they finish playing. There are individual serving sizes as well as containers, so the amount determines on how many dogs you have to serve and which version you choose to buy. Check in pet stores for the ice cream; regular grocery stores may not carry it.
Dog Toys
Purchase some new dog toys for the dogs to play with at the pool party. In order to save money, purchase some from the dollar store. Make sure that they are safe and won't cause danger or injury to the dogs. Rope toys are best as they don't have small pieces are are relatively durable. Tennis balls are also a good option for the larger dogs.
Goodie Bags
For the goodie bags to give out, put together little bags of dog treats. As an extra touch, try to make them yourself at home instead of buying them. In addition, if the dogs get a particular love for toys they play with at the party, consider letting them keep them.
Dog owners and their pets can enjoy themselves out in the sun at the pool party as a different place to play other than their yard or the park. It is also a good opportunity for the dogs to socialize with other dogs. Make sure to have plenty of poop bags on hand for any messes from the small and furry guests.
