Date:
Earth Day is on April 22, however some people also like to celebrate it on the first day of Spring, March 21. Pick a day anywhere in between there, or on the actual day of Earth Day. Just make sure you check your calendars ahead of time to know when the best time to have the party will be.
Location:
Since this is an Earth Day party the best place for you to have your Eco-Friendly Earth Day party would be outside. A local park would be the perfect setting. Make sure you check with your local park and recreation office to see if a permit will be required before going any further.
If the weather does not allow you to have a party outdoors then you will need to find a great indoor venue to have your party in. Make sure the place you pick on this will be spacious enough for all your guests.
Party Invitations:
I am sure by now you know who you want to invite, or at least I hope you have made your invite list. If you haven't, you better get busy ASAP before doing anything else. Once you list has been set it will be time to get those invitations out. To make the invitation Eco-friendly it would be a great idea to find recycled paper invitations. Head on over to www.greenfieldpaper.com and click on their link for invitations and announcements. All of their products are either handmade paper or made from hemp paper. However they are known for their Seed Embedded paper. This means their invitations can be embedded with flower seeds which will allow the invited guest to plant those seeds for future flowers. A great way to help the environment!
Party Decorations:
If you are having your party at a local park, there really isn't alot of decorated you will need to do. The outdoors provides all the decoration you will need. Now if you are having your party indoors you will need to have some sort of decorations for your party.
First fill your venue with amazing flowers. You can place a flower on each table where guests will sit. Buy a couple trees from your local garden store. Keep them in the pots they come in and place them throughout the room. Use seashells to fill vases with and place a candle on top of them. Take leaves and branches, place them in baskets and place them throughout the room. The ideas for this is pretty endless, just as long as you use any natural item you will be good.
Now head on over to www.ecopartysupply.com and pick out your Eco-friendly serving utensils, dinnerware, and tablecloths and napkins. Just click on their link for ECO+GREEN+ENVIRONMENT for all their Eco-friendly items.
Eco-Friendly Food:
Now to the best part of the Earth Day party, the food! All stores these days carry organic food, so finding such items will not be hard at all. Just stick with organic snacks, fresh fruits and vegetables from a local farmers market and fruit juice or water to drink. Just make sure you do not give out plastic bottles of water or juice because this is not Eco-friendly. Put them in a Eco-friendly, recycled cup for the guest.
Party Games:
Every party has to have a game! Plan an Eco-friendly Earth Day activity in which you and your guest head out to clean up trash at a local park (preferably the park you are having your party at, if you are having one outdoors) or you can organize an activity of sprucing up a local playground with a fresh coat of paint! The ideas here are endless as well.
Party Favors:
Every party must have something that the guest can walk away with. If you want, you can use those plants and flowers you used to decorate your venue as parting gifts for your guests or head over to Wal-Mart and pick up packs of flower seeds to give to your guests as they leave!
If you stick with these main tips and steps for throwing your own Eco-friendly Earth Day party, you will have a great party. If you have more ideas, great, just make sure you stick with anything nature offers you! Happy Earth Day!
