So now this year it is your turn to throw the annual Halloween bash. And you really don't know where to begin. To help you out, here are a few hints to make your Halloween bash the talk of the town well into next year.
Come In Costume
To me, one of the best things about a Halloween party is the mystery and intrigue that a true masquerade ball entails. Think of it, all your guests enter into the party wearing masks, no one truly knowing who or what the people around them are. Then, at the end, at the strike of midnight, everyone removes their masks and "reveals" their true selves. The question remains though, is the face they now show a reflection of their true selves, or was the mask that they wore through out the night?
Keep the Mood Light and Fun
All Hallow's Eve is known for both its fun and fright. Since there will most likely be some ghouls and goblins dressed up in your mists, make sure the music and the feel of the party remains fun and full of life. The question remains, though of how to accomplish this task? First, and foremost, a host or hostess must prepare for the party. Make sure you have enough food, enough drink, and enough music to keep the party alive. In addition, be sure to invite a few gregarious guests, people who will laugh at a 'ghost' jumping from behind a curtain, or have a story to tell about the last time they saw a little fairy trick or treating at their door.
Make Sure There Is Safe Passage
Of course, there is an aspect of Halloween that it shares with most every other holiday in America today. There is a strong likelihood that alcohol in some fashion will be involved. Unfortunately, too often driving under the influence does happen as well. While a host or hostess cannot prevent every drunken driver that will be on the road that evening, offering you guests the ability to call a taxi service or perhaps request an extension to your hospitality until clearer heads exist.
Above all, have fun. To many this night is a time of fun filled fright, candy, mystery and the release of inhibitions. Why not make the most of it and throw a celebration everyone will remember?
