First of all you will need to make invitations or purchase some. You can easily make invitations by using card stock. A very creative invitation is to cut out a circle, with a semicircle for the head. This will be the body of a ladybug. You can then let your child color the ladybug red and then glue black dots onto the ladybug. They can also glue on some antennas. You can write the date, time, place, and an RSVP number on the back of the card. This is an easy invitation that everyone will think is cute.
You will then need to find some activities for the children to do at the party. It is very easy to create your own ladybug activities. You can easily let the children make ladybugs out of paper plates. You can also let them create a ladybug paperweight. First you will need to gather some round rocks that are big enough to work with. You will need to wash the rocks beforehand. You can then instruct the kids to paint the rocks red. They can then add black dots and a black face. After the paint dries you can let them come back to the craft and glue on eyes and even antennas. They can easily make antennas from pipe cleaners. This is a great party favor for them to take home too.
You will also need decorations. For this theme it is very easy because you can decorate the house with red and black streamers. You can also buy a red table cloth and ahead of time paint black spots on it. You can also make headbands for the children easily. All you need to do is buy red headbands and then glue on black pipe cleaners that have black pompoms glued to them. These will be so cute and will be another item that the children can take home with them.
Next you will need a cake. You can easily make a ladybug cake following my decorations here. You can also make punch that is red. First you will need to mix a bottle of lemon-lime soda, a bottle of ginger ale, a tub of raspberry sherbet, a can of pineapple juice, and a package of cherry Kool-Aid. It will make a nice bright red punch. You can also make ladybug cookies if you would like.
This is an easy themed party that can be planned for a special child in your life. This is a very fun theme. Just be creative and your child is sure to love it. IF you would like more themed party ideas please check out my other articles here.
