How To Throw the Most Memorable Holiday Party Ever

And Not Break the Bank Doing It!

The best advice that I can give you to make your party stand apart is this: make it a theme party. For instance you can have a "Dress as Your Favorite Holiday Movie Character" party. Give your guests examples to help them decide. You could have people at your party dressed as a pink bunny, like Ralphie from "A Christmas Story," or like Snoopy, or even like Scrooge.

Another theme could be "Wear Your Ugliest Christmas Sweater," or go with a formal attire theme, "Bust Out the Bridesmaid Dress." A fun one for those who live in colder winter climate, a "Hawaiian Luau." What ever you go with your guest are sure to talk about your party for years to come. Nothing makes a party more special than being different. You don't want your guests to feel like your holiday party was the same as their office party.
To organize your party you just to follow a few simple steps. Since you have the party theme to lean on you don't have to go to wild with anything else.

The first thing that you need to do is to pick a date when you are sure that most of your guest will be able to make it. It doesn't hurt to talk to them ahead of time to make sure that they are free.

You can pick up blank invitations at your local stationary or business supply store, such as Staples or OfficeMax. The invitations are easy to make. You type what you want them to say in to a word processing program, like Microsoft Word, and then print out as many as you need. Make sure that you include the date, time, location (you should write the name of the place as well as the full address), and most importantly you need to include a brief description of your theme.

You will need to provide your guests with at least some type of food. Again, this doesn't need to be that extravagant. You can usually buy a lunchmeat tray at your local grocery store along with cupcakes and cookies. Of course there is always the old party staples of pretzels and chips. You are also going to want to provide some drinks. Soda and beer (as long as you are of age) are always a smart choice. Guests will usually bring their own beverage if they like something specific, so don't worry about pleasing everyone.

You should have some sort of entertainment for your guests as well. Depending on your theme you may want to have movies playing or just have music playing in the background.

Lastly, you may want to decorate. This step is totally optional. You will want to go with your theme. If you are having a formal theme, you are going to want to move furniture to the side and make your home look like a banquet hall. Try printing out pictures of fancy banquet halls or castles to set the atmosphere. If you are going with the movie theme, you may want to find pictures from your favorites. A simple search on the Internet will help you with the pictures.
