How to Throw a National Teacher's Day Party

National Teacher's Day is on the first Tuesday in May. National Teacher's Day coincides with teacher appreciation week. You may want to throw a party for one teacher or for a school full of teachers. Here's some suggestions on how to throw a National Teacher's Day Party.

Since National Teacher's Day is used to celebrate all teachers, anyone thinking of throwing a party should include all the teachers of the school. If just one teacher is going to be celebrated, then the party should be set up in that teacher's room. The guests will be the student and the teacher will be the guest of honor.

The first thing to do is to decide who will be invited. Depending on the size of the party, volunteers may need to be recruited to help with large parties. PTA or PTO members would love to help such a great cause. Plan early and thoroughly.

If you are going to have a National Teacher's Day party for all the teachers in the school, chances are good it would be best to leave all the students out. In order to get all the teachers together at one time for a party, it would have to be before school or after school. It may even be a good idea to plan with the principal and set up a room with goodies for the teachers as the National Teacher's Day party.

When throwing a National Teacher's Day party for one teacher, the classroom is the best place to have decorations and goodies. The host or hostess will have to know how many children are in the classroom. There should be enough food and drink for everyone in the classroom. The teacher will have to be aware of the plans ahead of time to fit the activity into the daily schedule. The host or hostess will have to work around regular classroom activities.

Bring everything to make a party complete. Decorations, plates, forks, paper towels, food and drinks will have to be bought ahead of time and easily accessible the day of the party. The teacher should be able to sit and enjoy the refreshments while the class is served by the host or hostess. The host or hostess will have to bring everything to ensure that the teacher does not need to do any work for his or her own party.

If the National Teacher's Day party is going to be for all the teachers the host or hostess will still need to bring everything even a tablecloth. The host or hostess can set the room up that has been designated by the principal. The principal will have to be aware of the activity and the host or hostess can even have the principal call a staff meeting in the room after school to ensure all the guests are there.

Whether the host or hostess is serving one teacher or all the teachers, the host or hostess will need to stay and make sure everything is cleaned up. Then, the host or hostess can leave knowing their job was done well.

Great idea! I can think of a million things I'd rather do than teach! Tough job - they need the encouragement.
