How to Throw a Super Bowl Party with Ease

First of all, don't make extra work for yourself. Call or email the people you would like to invite. Make sure you have them R.S.V.P. If they ask if they can bring something make sure you tell them what you could use. You may ask them to bring their favorite beverage. It's also fine to ask people to bring a dish, appetizer or snack to pass.

You can keep it easy buy just buying a few balloons in your teams colors, maybe the plates and napkins too. Make sure you have plenty of plastic glasses for beverages. You might even want to purchase disposable platters and bowls.

For food keep it simple, Super Bowl Sunday everyone is focused on the game. Not your favorite dish that takes you 3 hours to make. Snacks and appetizers are just fine. For snacks you can have some salsa and chips, pretzels and mustard or cheese, chips and dip, cheese, sausage and cracker tray, a bowl of nuts.

Some easy appetizers are shrimp with cocktail sauce or the dip version, on a large platter spread a package of cream cheese, a bottle of cocktail sauce over that, and a can or two of tiny shrimp to top it off. Great served with Ritz crackers. You can make the cocktail wieners wrapped in crescent rolls. Even the cocktail wieners in sauce are easy enough. Just mix even amounts of grape jelly and chili sauce in a pan, add cocktail wieners, store bought meatballs or chicken wings, simmer 10-15 minutes and serve warm. There are a lot of easy recipes, in your favorite cookbook or on the internet. http://www.easy-appetizer-recipes.com/ and http://allrecipes.com/HowTo/Easy-Appetizers/Detail.aspx
are two good sites for easy appetizers.

You can get some trivia about the teams or past Super Bowl games to play before the game or during half time. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Super_Bowl_records has some great info that you can use for trivia. Before the game starts you may want to get some kind of football pool together.

For watching the game make sure you have plenty of seating space, pillows or cushions on the floor. Just make sure everyone has a good view of the television. The term the bigger the better would be a good one here. If budget allows you could even rent a big screen television for the day.

Great article! We always have my son's friends over for Super Bowl Sunday and the kids have the GREATEST time! I love your idea about the balloons & will dress it up this time. The kids always love the appetizers, and we have some types that can be heated up at different points during the game. Thanks for the great article! Kim
