How to Throw a Themed Fall Football Party

Alternative Football Season Party Ideas

Fall begins the season of football parties. Every Sunday, there's an opportunity to impress your friends and family. Instead of giving a traditional football party, where pizza and beer are served, you can do something different. Even though you may think that everyone just wants pizza and beer, you'd be surprised how many persons will enjoy doing something unique and fun.

1. Mexican themed football party. Serve enchiladas, tacos and fried ice cream. You can actually find fried ice cream in the grocery store now. It's usually some type of apple cinnamon flavor. As for the enchiladas and tacos, these can easily be made at home. Just get ground beef and add the vegetables, cheese, beans and enchiladas/ tacos. You can decorate the room with Mexican items. Try placing Mexican hats around. People can wear them during the game. You may think this sounds silly, but when watching football, anything is possible. For beverages, serve Corona Mexican beer and some type of Mexican red wine.

2. Halloween themed fall football party. This is my favorite themed fall football party idea. The house can be decorated for Halloween, with cobwebs hanging around, and jackolanterns carved. Anything black and orange will add to the mood, even orange spice candles. As for the food, serve chocolate cupcakes with orange icing for one idea for dessert. Name your unique food ideas with halloween names. For example, create a cocktail that is dark in color and call it witches' brew. Serve goblin sandwiches and bat salads.

3. Caribbean themed fall football party. Have a Caribbean/ beach theme for the football party. Provide everyone with huge sunglasses and decorate with bright beach towels hanging around the room. If you want to go all out, cover an area of the floor with sand and have a sandbox. Serve pina coladas and strawberry daiquiris with little umbrellas in them. Use hawaiian, coconut scents such as candles and air fresheners for the finishing touch.

4. Fall themed fall football party. For this one, you're just going to decorate in fall style. Decorate the room with pumpkins and gourds, and fall corn husks. Serve pumpkin pie and other fall themed foods. Put the party-goers in a fall mood.

5. American style fall football party. This one's another great one. Put up flags all over the room, and use red, white and blue colors. You can go so far as to buy dishes that are red, white and blue in color and even light sparklers outside at halftime.

6. Mystery themed fall football party. If your party guests are intellectuals, they may appreciate more than just the football game as the source of entertainment. Create a mystery that needs to be solved by the end of the football game. You're providing two games in one. Give people clues as to what the answer is.

7. Scavenger hunt themed fall football party. Let people search through your home to find items during commercials. Whoever finds the most items, wins the scavenger hunt. Of course, just make sure you don't have people rummaging through your underwear drawers or finding your hidden stash of cash for emergencies.

You can probably think of twenty more themed fall football party ideas. What are your ideas?
