Invitations
When throwing a Harry Potter birthday party, you will want everything to revolve around this theme. To make Harry Potter invitations, you will need stationary that looks like aged paper. If you can't find this type of stationary, you can make your own. Take white cardstock and blot the paper with coffee. After you have the perfect paper, use a fountain pen to write the invitations. This will make it look like the invitation was written with a quill. Then roll the invitation up and tie with a ribbon or you can also fold the invitation and seal it with a wax stamp.
Food and Treats
You will next need to prepare party favors for your Harry Potter birthday party. You can make this as simple or elaborate as you want. For a simple birthday party favor, hand out boxes Bertie Bott's Every Flavor Beans. If you want to give out more expensive birthday party favors, you can create gift bags that contain several Harry Potter inspired treats. Online you can find everything from Ice Mice to Blood Drops. All of these candies would add up to a great gift bag.
What kind of cake do you want to serve at a Harry Potter birthday party? There are three different types to choose from. You can either buy a Harry Potter cake pan and make the cake yourself or you can choose a store bought cake. When choosing a store bought cake you can choose one of the many Harry Potter designs the store already offers or you can take a picture that you would like on the cake. Any picture can be scanned to make a custom cake.
A kid's birthday party, even a Harry Potter birthday party, requires pizza. But, along with pizza you can serve Harry Potter inspired recipes. Online you can actually find Harry Potter recipes. These recipes range from Butter Beer to Dragon Snot. These are all recipes that kids are going to love. With kids, the grosser something is the better.
Entertainment
A Harry Potter birthday party would not be complete without at least one of the Harry Potter movies. If you wanted to turn your Harry Potter birthday party into a sleepover, or just make it last longer, you could show all of the movies. Other great ways to entertain your guests would be to play the Harry Potter Scene It game or to create trivia questions of your own from the books and movies. You could even have a prize for the guest who scored the most points.

Great ideas. My cousin is also having a birthday soon. I will suggest this idea to my aunt. I know the kid reads Harry Potter. I love the Harry Potter movie marathon idea.
