How to Get Tickets to Attend a Taping of the Late Show with David Letterman

Love the Late Show with David Letterman? Will you be traveling to New York City in the next four months? Getting in to see the TV legend isn't easy, but with planning, it can happen.

Online Ticket Request for "Late Show with David Letterman"

Visit the Late Show with David Letterman's web page to submit an online request for tickets. You can request a ticket for yourself plus a guest (everyone must be 18+), and you must be able to answer a trivia question about the show. Be sure about your guest when you submit your request, as the tickets are non-transferable.

In Person Ticket Request for "Late Show with David Letterman"

You can also stop by the show lobby at 1697 Broadway (between West 53rd and West 54th Streets) to request tickets in person. Requests are taken Monday through Friday between 9:30 AM and 12:30 PM and Saturday and Sunday from 10 AM to 6 PM. Don't line up before 9 AM, or you will be disqualified from getting tickets. Tickets are given out at random space permitting, and recipients will be notified via phone.

Group Bookings for "Late Show with David Letterman"

Have a group between 10 and 20 people that want to attend a Letterman taping? Apply for group seats with Bethany via email at bbwilliams@cbs.com. You should include the following information:

-Number of Tickets Needed
-Description of Group
-Daytime Telephone Number
-Date(s) Request (Be as specific and flexible as possible. Remember that the Late Show tapes on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday only.)

Last Minute Attempt to Secure Tickets for "Late Show with David Letterman"

If you are already in New York or haven't had success with the above attempts, you can try to get Stand-By Tickets. These are available via phone, 212/247-6497, beginning at 11 AM on the day you would like to attend a taping. You will be added to a stand by list and asked to arrive about 1 hour before taping to see if seats will become available.

Didn't get tickets?

Hang around West 53rd Street during taping. You might catch the celebrity guests arriving or see one of the show's crazy stunts. You can grab a quick snack from Rupert Jee (often seen on the Late Show) at the Hello Deli located at 213 West 53rd.

Don't Forget

No matter what method you use to get tickets, be sure that you take your government issued photo ID with you. The ID should have your name as provided, your address, and your birth date. Also, don't be late if you are on the list or have tickets. The show will have stand-bys waiting to take your seat.
