Get a few ideas of how to make a tiered cupcake wedding cake by checking out local bakeries, the Internet or Baking Cookbooks. Tiered Cupcake Wedding Cake cupcakes make a 'statement' when made specifically for a wedding by the do-it-yourself bakers.

Everything needed to create your very own Tiered Cupcake Wedding Cake can be purchased at craft or discount stores like Wal- Mart, Target, the Mom and Pop stores, or Dollar stores.

Things You Need:

Cupcake recipe
Paper baking cups
Baking cupcake pan
Wedding cake tier
Cake for top tier
Decorations for cake
Cardboard to put under cake

1.
Place paper cups inside the cup cake tins for easy removal. Use your favorite cake or cupcake recipe to make a Tiered Cupcake Wedding Cake. Pour the batter into the cupcake pan lined with the paper cups. Bake the cupcakes. When done, place them flat on a plate or cardboard and freeze them. Note: Instead of baking the cupcakes buy them from the bakery and feeze them as well. Cake is easier to handle when frozen.

2.
Bake or buy a traditional cake of your choice to place on the top tier of the Tiered Cupcake Wedding Cake. Allow it to cool. Place the chilled Tiered Cupcake Wedding Cake on the round cardboard. Place this into the freezer as well.

3. Remove the frozen cupcakes along with the frozen traditional cake from the freezer a week before the wedding. Decorate the tiers as desired. Make or buy the toppings and add to the cupcakes and the traditional cake. Freeze once again.

Tips & Warnings

Freeze the cupcakes and cake and topping way in advance of the wedding. They can remain fresh for at least two months.

Measure the tier and the cupcakes to figure out how many you need. Make sure you place them close together for a better cake look.

Instead of regular cupcakes, the miniature size ones will do. They fill out the tiers even better than regular size cupcakes.

Make sure to also bake a traditional cake to place on the top of the Tiered Cupcake Wedding Cake tier so the bride and groom can cut the cake.

Instead of baking, you can use a store bought one layer cake, and plain, regular or miniature cupcakes. If they are baked at home, freeze and ice them as stated above.

Take the frozen Cupcake Wedding Cakes and the Tier, to where the wedding dinner will be held. Place the frozen cakes onto the Tier. Add decorations to the Tiered Cupcake Wedding Cake as desired.

Do not use freshly baked cupcakes or cake. Frozen will keep them firm until it is time for coffee and wedding cake.

Tiered Cupcake Wedding Cakes are less expensive than the traditional wedding cakes. If you prefer, you can have two wedding cakes-one the Tiered Cupcake Wedding Cake and the other a traditional cake.
