I found a better deal with Metro PCS. It was unlimited talk and text for $40. This price included taxes and fees.
I decided to switch. Before switching, I called T-Mobile and specifically asked them if I would be charged a full bill or prorated bill for switching providers. They told me that I'd have to pay a prorated bill for switching.
I switched providers in November. During the cycle my phone was on 3 days. Then I got my bill from T-Mobile. I was charged $1 per day for the first two days. For the 3rd day they charged me $27.99.
I talked to a customer service representative. First she tried to make it sound like I was making a "partial" payment. I pointed out to her that although the bill said partial I was being charged the full amount. We talked for a bit, and she was trying to confuse me. It took me a while before I got her to flat out admit I was being charged full price for 3 days. She said since I switched providers I would be charged for the full month. I told her about my talk with the previous customer service representative, and she said "sorry but you must pay the charges.
The icing on the cake is that the 3rd day (that I am charged $27.99 for) the phone was only on a couple hours before I switched providers.
I do not recommend T-Mobile to anyone. They have bad customer service. Not only is the customer service unaware of the policies, but they're rude.
I feel scammed of my money. If they had been honest about how much I would have to pay, then I would have kept them as a carrier until the end of the cycle. Now I am paying two full bills for the month of November-one with my current provider and another with T-Mobile.
I feel cheated, and I can't even fight back. I'm one person. They're a big company with billions of dollars--I will lose. I dislike feeling this way. I don't think I will have a cell phone again.
