How the Top TV Sitcom Couples Should Spend Valentine's Day

Victoria Leigh Miller
Valentine's Day is almost here- and that means television's most memorable couples should make like the rest of us and celebrate! Here are some ideas for what our favorite TV sitcom couples should do this Valentine's Day.

Mike and Carol Brady, "The Brady Bunch"- This classic TV couple took their blended family everywhere- the kids even tagged along for their honeymoon. How about a night on the town that doesn't include Mike golfing or Carol calling home every five minutes to check on Cindy's sniffles?

Phil and Claire Dunphy, "Modern Family" - We already know these two enjoy a good B-movie schlock fest. Claire missed out on "Croctopus" because she wanted to pretend she liked boring foreign films to impress a snooty couple from their kids' school. I say it's time for a movie date re-do- with 3-D glasses and extra popcorn!

Doug and Carrie Heffernan- "King of Queens"- Her idea of a good time is a night of dancing; his idea of a good time is a trip to Chocolate World. Why not combine the two and take a long weekend in Provo for a visit to Salsa Chocolate ? Yes, there is actually a salsa dance club that features chocolate fountains. Sounds like a sweet way to dance the night away- although Doug may need a bib.

Darrin and Samantha Stephens- "Bewitched"- Wouldn't it be magical if that uptight mortal Darrin actually let loose and enjoyed his wife's witchcraft for a night? Sam could zap them to a Paris café for croissants, to Venice for a romantic gondola sail and they could even take a trip back in time to another century if they wanted. And it wouldn't cost them a cent. Seriously, what is Darrin waiting for?

Fred and Wilma Flintstone, "The Flintstones"- Poor Wilma, always having to wait on Fred hand and foot and carry those oversized brontosaurus ribs to the dinner table. She deserves to have some fun. Fred should take Wilma out to Rock Vegas for a weekend of TV-G rated debauchery. As her Valentine's gift to Fred, Wilma should attempt to say his name in one syllable.

Lucy and Ricky Ricardo, "I Love Lucy" - While this couple enjoyed plenty of date nights (usually a double with Fred and Ethel), it would be nice for them to have some alone time. Their show jumped the shark when they moved to Connecticut, so we say it's back to New York for a night on the town. Maybe dinner and some rumba-ing at the club. As for Fred and Ethel- they are little Ricky's Godparents so they can babysit the kid for once, can't they?

Ross Geller and Rachel Green, "Friends"- This pair was on-again off-again for 10 years on this sitcom, but the series finale hinted that they would be on-again. So how about reliving old times back at Central Perk, then stopping by Ross's museum? Aw, who are we kidding? This couple is only as good as the company they keep. Entire "Friends" Gang: Central Perk, Valentine's Day, be there or be square. Joey included!
