Tools required:
Set of wrenches
Common screwdriver
Belt or something to support the driveshaft
Two blocks of wood
Put the blocks of wood in the front and rear of one of the tires. Put the Jeep in neutral.
Remove the drive shaft at the rear yoke using a wrench. Use a common screwdriver to hold the shaft from turning while you are removing the bolts to take the driveshaft out.
Support the driveshaft by tying it to the exhaust or frame using the belt or other suitable method to make it secure.
Push the Jeep up onto the tow dolly. Place the straps over the front wheels and hook them to the dolly. Tighten the straps until they are tight and secure.
Place the magnetic tail lights on the rear of the vehicle and plug the electrical connector into the tow vehicle trailer light connector.

Post a CommentDon't follow directions of this idot. Just ask a RV person that tows his jeep and he will let you know how to do it correctly.
Of course, since you're towing the vehicle on a dolly, no wheels turn.
My friend who bought a new Wrangler and had the Dealership refuse to act when the transmission file - twice (!), told me he just swapped the defective Jeep transmission for a Ford truck tranny and "That fixed it."
IDIOT!!!
%22All four wheels are on the ground and the steering wheel must be strapped so it cannot turn.%22%0D%0A%0D%0AGood grief...I hope no one follows this because they%27ll severely damage their vehicle%21 Towing four wheels down means you LET THE FRONT WHEELS TURN%21
