How to Make Traditional Christmas and New Year 2010 Cake at Home
Make Traditional Delicious Home Made Cakes for Christmas and New Year 2010
Ingredients:
500 gms flour ( Maida)
500 gms sugar powdered
10 eggs
500 gms butter
food color - Vanilla Essence / Rum
Baking Soda
Dry fruits like almonds, cashews and resins. Pista could also be added
Method:
Take a good vessel and add 500 gms of flour and 500 gms of sugar powder. Mix them properly. Now add 2 tablespoon baking soda powder and mix it again properly. keep the vessel aside
Now take the egg and remove the yoke part of all ten eggs just take albumin and mix it properly in a grinder. it should make good foam.
Take butter and pre heat it mild so that it is semi solid.
Add albumin to the vessel with flour and sugar. Now with your hands start mixing it to make a paste. At a stage where you feel that the flour is getting dry start adding butter slowly into the vessel and keep beating the flour. If you are not comfortable with hand use a hand blender.
The flour should now become like a paste which is thick yet easily flows. take half tea cup of cooking oil and add it to the flour dough and keep blending it.
Keep blending for at least 30 minutes from the starting process of albumin adding.
Now if you wish then add rum to the cake. For non alcoholic do not add add vanilla essence 2-3 teaspoons into the dough and blend it again for 5 minutes.
Keep the entire flour dough for 30 minutes and mean while pre heat the oven in conventional mode for 220 degree for at least 15 minutes.
Now take the dry fruits and crush them into small pieces. Pre heat 5-6 tea spoons of oil or ghee into a vessel and add these crushed dry fruits into it. Roast it golden brown and take it out. Now take a cake pan, place butter paper in good shape into the cake pan and put the dough into the cake pan such that the dough is only half the cakepan.
Add the dry fruits on top to garnish it.
Now tear extra butter paper from corners that are pointed. and place the cakepan into the oven. Put timer to 80 minutes. (ie 60+20) by the time it reached 70 minutes the baked cake will start smelling yummy.
After 80 minutes take the cake pan out and let the cake cool. If you wish to test if cake is ready, pierce a sharp knife into the cake and take out, it should be non sticky.
Your yummy traditional home made cake is ready to much on. cut it into pieces and serve. Ideally 500 gms recipe should make 2 pan cakes each of 500 gms
