How to Train Your Own Pitbull Dog

Sunflower
Many think that a pitbull dog is vishes and aggressive but, it's all in the way you train them. The training needs to start when they're just a puppy, because if you wait and let the puppy get to old than you properly will end up having to take the dog to a trainer, and really you can train your own pitbull. A lot of people have seen on the news, or heard about some vishes attack involving a pitbull and that is all because of how their owner trained them, if you teach them to be aggressive they will be. I own a pitbull myself, with two cats, and they all get along just find, and she is a very lovable pet, it all depends on how you treat the dog and what you teach them. The key is to make sure you start teaching the dog from three to four month old, and this is not just for pitbulls it's for all dogs, they can be taught the same way. But, for the pitbull here are some tips listed below on how to start training your pitbull, because dog training school can be expensive when you can do this yourself.

1.) Show him who's boss, when I walk through the house my dog stand back and let me go first, and that's how it should be.
2.) Always walk ahead of your dog this lets him know you are the boss, he will see from that who is in charge.
3.) Never allow your dog to sleep on your bed, or any other furniture in the house that you don't want the dog to sleep on.
4.) You need to let your dog know who eats first, that means sit down at your table or wherever you eat with no eye contact and have your meal first.
5.) You will only feed the dog if he is not whining or demanding his food, if he waits comely than you give him his food.
6.) Make sure you feed your dog at the same time everyday (set a time), than the dog will know to wait till that time he will not bother you until than.
7.) When you walk through the house walk like you're in control don't walk like you're intimidated by him.
8.) Always make sure your dog has a cool place to lye when it's hot to avoid digging to stay cool.
9.) When your dog jumps on you turn away as if you didn't see him do that, than he will know you didn't want him to do that.
10.) To train your dog to go outside, while the dog is still a puppy keep him in a small space that way he/she will not go until you take the dog out, because the dog doesn't like to go where he has to sleep, in fact the dog will never go where he sleep if you have a set time to take the dog out, they don't like to smell their own waste just like humans. You must praise the dog when he goes outside to show the dog that was the right thing to do, if you have a treat to give him for a while that will help, just until the dog learns where to go but, it's doesn't hurt to always have a treat or two for your dog, just to let the dog know when he did well.

Remember your dog loves you, and is willing to do anything you want. Your dog likes to protect you and will always be by your side. So, showing the dog who's in charge, and praising him or her when they go outside, and also you will need to let the dog know which rooms is ok to go in and which are not, just like everything else, when you will take the dog out, when you will feed him, when not to jump on you or anyone else, come when you call him, setting some rules just like you do with your children's. From that he will know not to go in your house, where he should go. Your dog will protect you when he needs to and whoever you likes the dog will like also. Don't scare the dog by yelling at him when he do wrong but, just be firm, and direct as to what you want him to do. And have a time when you play with him but, not to much playing around be a little stern but, friendly and playful to so, when you tell your dog something he will listen. And always start this training when your dog is just a puppy, that way it's easer to train your dog. When walking your dog always make sure he or she is walking right by your side and not a half of block of head of you. If you have a pitbull you can train this your pitbull this way and almost any other dog you may have, these rules work with most dogs as well, pitbull are really easy to train just like any other dogs, you kind of mold them into how you want them to behaved. My pitbull listen to me very well, and follow me around the house to protect me, and is very friendly, and if she thinks I'm in danger or someone is approaching that shouldn't than she will react.

I really think a pitbull should be trained and handle by and adult and that if you really feel this way about getting a pitbull you should proberly think about getting another type dog. Really, it;s all in the way you train the dog they can also be lovable pets. Being fifteen you need an adult to help you train this type of dog. One reason you heard bad things is because people have trained these dogs the wrong way. It's all in the way you train them. And I really do think that you need to start from birth with this breed of dog, you can't just go and buy a puppy 6 or 7 months old.

You're only twelve, I think you need help with this animal like a grown up to help you out. First, of all a nine week old pitbull don't bite like that unless you're putting your hand or something in her mouth. I think a grown up should be helping you train this puppy. When my puppies were nine weeks old they didn't know anything about biting unless you put your hand in the mouth.

I have a nine week old pitbull puppy and I have already potty trained her. The only thing you have to do is find a certain area in the yard where you want the dog to go "potty" and then tap your foot, look at it seriously, and tell it "hurry up"! If it goes potty than reward it with a puppy treat if it doesn't than bring it back inside and set it in a crate.

I'm twelve years old and I have a vicious 9 week old pitbull puppy. She won't refrain from biting me and it really hurts. I don't know what to do if she bites me. I don't care about how to prevent her from biting. What do I do if she bites me or my clothes and I want to get her off of me without ripping my clothes or my flesh? PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!

You should make sure it's a puppy because,it may be hard to train them to listen to you. My pitbull knows family members and she doesn't bark at them but, I always put my pit in another room whenever anyone comes by. They're going to bark at whoever knock or comes into your house as any dog would but, you have to teach them that the person is ok. Usually, whoever you're ok with they are to. Just don't let them jump all over people as if you have a french poodle or they may bite if they don't know them that well. I hope this helps. If you have anymore questions let me know.

Try a different leash, sometimes that can be the problem try one that have spikes. Or, try one that fits the body or chest area that will help control the dog and make him/her walk straight. It will keep them from pulling or dragging you down the street.
