How to Train Your Subconscious to Work for You

Ellen Brock
The subconscious mind is a powerful tool. It can either work for you or work against you. Some people's subconscious seem to be naturally inclined to work against them. If you're one of these people you may feel depressed, on edge, or frustrated much of the time. Fortunately, you can train your subconscious to process things differently. The subconscious is powerful enough to change your mindset from pessimistic to optimistic through visualizations.

Whether there's a goal you'd like to achieve but just can't quite reach or you just want to feel happier, utilizing the power of your subconscious could be the key.

The easiest way to train your subconscious to work for you is to choose a goal. The goal could be to work harder at your job, fight less with a spouse, or even eat less junk food. Choose a goal that you'd like your subconscious to help you out with. Make sure the goal you choose is obtainable. Your subconscious can't control the behaviour of other people, but it can change the way you view that behaviour.

After you choose your goal you need to visualize achieving it. It is best to do this in the evening right before you fall asleep. Visualize yourself participating in activities that will lead towards your goal. Imagine yourself letting your spouse's irritating behaviour roll off your back. Imagine reaching for an apple instead of a cookie. Take the time to put yourself in the moment and visualize the ideal outcome.

Then, fill your body with the emotion you have connected to achieving the outcome. Fill your body with pride that you didn't snap at your spouse or happiness that you chose a healthy food. Allow these feelings to fill up your body and create positive emotions.

Finally, go to sleep. Our subconscious is most active while we sleep. It will process your goals and help change your mindset into one that will work with you instead of against you.

If you follow these steps consistently, the goals you've always wanted to achieve will begin to fall in place and your mindset will become a much more positive one.
